Regarding Last PR change that happened today

Hi,

I have a site that has different no. of links from other sites to its deep pages

the last PR change has very strange results some of the pages that has too many links lost their PR to 0 or no PR and some that are very neglected and has no backlinks got PR ??? does this PR in toolbar actually mean anything ???

 

I exprienced the same... As back links imporved a lot. but no effect in PR yet...

 

I think, just think not proved this . that the PR that appears in Google toolbar is very old
what u think ppl.

coz it doesn't affect anything the SERP is the same while PR is high or low!!

it also depends on your back links quality which you've archived from other sites.

Google will consider Many Points in Page rank system before sending Good Green Bar to your web pages

I see the same for my sites too. Its kind of strange, as the pages for which I got lot of backlinks, have either lost their PR, or haven't gained a PR.

 

Google dropped my PR from 2 to 1 today.This is for my site at
http://www.topforeignstocks.com.

Funny thing is I have been adding more backlinks and good contents too.Traffic has been increasing as well. Something is weird with Google today.

I am noticing some fluctuations in backlinks for my sites.. but no change in PR.

 

I agree with Loco - focus on getting traffic to your site instead

 

This PR thing is not important.Its the traffic that counts.
So I am concentrating on getting more traffic. No worry folks.

 

you people saying "don't worry about pr" are ignoring the fact that many people rely on PR for major facets of their business, and these erratic changes by google are very disruptive

for those of us that buy and sell websites, PR is still a very important factor.... if you don't believe me, try and sell a PR0 website and see what kind of interest you get, compared to trying to sell a PR5 website

all we ask of Google is a little bit of consistency and responsibility

Sorry had to laugh at this because I'm quite sure this is the reason google is tinkering with the PR system. I'm sure at some point google will create a system where PR is invisible to every1 except google.

 

well it is not funny

invisible would be better than the current system where they screw around with it

it is critical to doing business because it is out there now, if it was invisible we wouldn't have to worry about it

google should be a little more responsible with their actions
