The money was created and based on that principal. Why change now?

It is dumb to even really consider it. It is a tradition now so I think we should leave it. It isn't hurting anyone.

Are we living in such a different world now? The men who created the currency obviously wanted to include it. Why remove it? What could possibly be offensive about in God we trust?

I did not include how I feel in my post. I dont think it should change I also dont think the pledge of allegiance should have been altered. These are a part of US history and should not be changed. What do people want in place of it "in Google we trust"?

People complain about the lamest things a Cross on a hill in SoCal was removed because it was on state property and one person went through the courts to have it removed. It was a landmark for many years now its gone.

Some people take things too far to get a little recognition media coverage and really ruin things for others that had zero effect on there life. Its money how often do you really read it. Most spend it faster then they get anyways so how can it offend someone enough that they would want it removed

because not everyone believes in god. Personal beliefs have no place on things that everyone has to use and has to pay towards the manufacture of.

I know it's hard for theists to think how other people feel about things and even harder for them to accept that not everybody has the same beliefs as they do, So imagine how you would feel having to use money that stated something that you wholeheartedly disagree with, Such as "there is no god but allah" (assuming you are a christian), And you may get an idea of the reasons why some people may feel it has no place and feel it should be removed.

And really, why would christians want this phrase on something as material and inappropriate as money? if i was a theist i would find the location of this phrase to be wholly inappropriate, tacky and indecent.

Add to this the fact that religious organisations are tax exempt and it makes you wonder on what grounds they feel entitled to have an opinion in the first place.

I'm an atheist and I think getting all riled up over stuff like this is just being petty.
