    BUYER BEWARE!

Has anyone else seen this code yet?

Seems to me nobody would be stupid enough to actually try this black hat technique (you will likely get penalized by Google)....but it is amusing to see.

I did try it on a domain of mine that I had spare, and it works. It`s not really an instant PR10, and it`s only when you leave the redirect going for a while. But nonetheless, you can get an instant ban from google.

Aside from the risk of ban, does it really do anything? Isn't it the destination site, in this case www.google.com, that gets the benefit from having a site redirected to it? It seems unlikely that google would give any PR to a site that simply redirects to another site.

The only thing that it does is channel PR since it`s a 301 redirect. Thats all.

Actually, the point is that it isn't giving actual PR weight.
It is something that a guy came up with to game the system in order to sell to the ignorant.
I certainly would not recommend anybody try it, just thought I'd get your feedback on the stupidity behind it.

Google spiders will find that code on a site and rip the site apart. I wouldn't be surprised if they have a human that visits pr9 and above.

Lest anyone actually tries this for nefarious purposes, be advised that selling a fraudulent PR through PayPal will get the buyer their money back in a dispute, and it applies to ANY PR link or domain sale.
    Honesty still reigns supreme.
Lessons to be learned in the PR market!

I would think think that anyone smart enough to put this in their page would be smart enough to see that it's a farce.

Lot of people do that actually; specially some bloggers that sells reviews. Although I doubt anybody would be stupid enough to go for PR10:)

That method is almost as old as the PR itself, that's how the term Fake PR started. You won't get penalized by Google for that since Google won't recognize your site beyond a useless doorway and won't cache it. You can only fool a couple of newbies and that's it.
