Best Place to Register Domains

I was wondering what the best site is to register a domain with, based on features and pricing. For example, I usually use namecheap but I just realized for the extension I want they charge too much. But they do give you that whoisGuard. I was looking at 1&1 but in there it said you can only have 5 subdomains? Can someone explain that to me, like if i transfer that to my webhosting and my webhosting allows unlimited subdomains, how many do I have?

I'd never suggest GoDaddy. They have one of the most confusing sites ever. Every page you look at, they're trying to up sell you.

Nice to see you went with Name.com
I have a growing portfolio there myself.
I think they are quickly gaining in popularity.
Not knowing what the extension you registered was, I'd hazard that
all things considered (WHOIS privacy, initial reg fee etc), the pricing there was favorable. I hope the renewal rate is equally appealing.
