It takes no longer to submit to the ODP as it does to submit to any other directory, so if you are filling out directory submissions, then yeah, it's worth the time. What is a waste of time is giving it a second thought once the submission has been made. But yeah, go on & submit, chances are it won't hurt any.
That one sentence just about sums it up! That is a little discouraging if it is true. Have not heard anything definitive about it anyway. What I understood was, if you re-submit your site it goes to the back of queue.
That is true... If you look up in the ODP forum here you'll see that many editors do not bother with the submission queue at all, and that doing so is NOT part of their guidelines for finding sites. Some say they never look at it, and from the looks of some of the editors that do post it would not be too far off to say that at least some of them believe that the only people that do submit are webmasters and that they really really really dislike webmasters, so saying that they won't list submitted sites is not all that far of a stretch. Now, to be fair, I'm sure there are other editors that ONLY look at the submission queue to find sites, so in some categories that is the best way to get a listing. It's really a crap shoot...
CBP, the guy I mentioned in that WPW thread, also stated that some categories are just plain glutted. In some cases, they just do not add anything else to them unless the site has something unique and not rehashed. So if it really is a crap shoot, you may be shooting snake-eyes and not know it.
