Recently is it becoming very easy to get listed in directories Which back links are better? are they from blogs or Directories?
in content in blogs as Mikey says and I agree with Matrix also as related content is important some directories offer links in descriptions also both can be good just a matter of finding the quality blog or directory as always
Yeah in content blog links from related sites are better then a general directory; however a well edited niche directory related to your site can be just as good.
It is becoming very easy to get listed in FFA, or average directories. It will never be easy to get into a quality directory if your website does not comply with their guidelines or is a low quality resource. Talking about quality here, not where the links are coming from. Pretty surprised to see that old members are getting (and spreading) the wrong message. Between a contextual link in a niche related, average blog and a link in a quality web directory resource (let's say Romow for example) the second one will be stronger and much more relevant. Remember Google's saying that links are actually votes from a site to another and if a well established, trusted web directory would vote for your site that would be much better than a contextual link in an average blog. Also please bear in mind that a submission in a highly trusted web directory would be placed in a relevant category for your website alongside another 10-15 quality resources from the same niche. If the descriptions are unique then we'll have a quality, more than relevant web page with strong neighbour sites and top content. To make the story shorter...the most important thing is the quality and the trust rank of the site that votes for you. Relevance in terms of content comes after together with several other factors. Hope this helps Thanks
Simarly Loredan, I'd sooner take a backlink from somewhere like seobook, shoemoney etc that a category of BOTW. We can't compare apples with oranges, we need some sort of comparison.
Do you really think google knows the exact niche of your site and the exact niche of the site that has your link in it? Of course not. Im sure if the blog with your link in it has a few keywords related to those on your site then it will get the same importence as a blog that is exactly like yours.
Exactly what I've said here: "To make the story shorter...the most important thing is the quality and the trust rank of the site that votes for you..." ...no matter if it's a blog, web directory or any other website. That's why I think the question asked by OP it doesn't make much sense... Thanks
My top links 60% - from Directories 30% - from blogs 10% - none of the above In my opinion. Which link is better is not dependent on the type of site - be it blog or directory or something else. What matters is the quality of the site giving the link and its relevance to the content on the page being linked to. That is why it is important to get sites categorized properly in a directory to keep pages relevant and content unique for indexing. Blogs tend to have a broader range of topics that are not as tightly categorized making the relevancy a little harder to hit on.
i prefer updated blogs with more messages to post my links there it will make the best results for you
With the reported emphasis on relevant content over simple backlink text, I would suspect that blogs would be preferred over directories for Google.
It doesn't matter whether it's a blog or directories and that depends on the traffic and PR to that page. But I would definitely target those with dofollow attribute.
I agree with Swedal. At the same time, if you also care about the quality of the TRAFFIC as well as the link, that will probably come from a niche blog or website. As long as the directory or blog is authoritative in Googles eyes, that link has worth.
