Hey everyone, I am really tired of using my blog template...and since there are probably a million blogs out there with the same one, its time to change it. My blog is hosted at blogger so I know I am limited as to what I can do but I need to find a better template. I've searched online but maybe someone here has some better templates or sites to choose from. Also, can someone please explain how you can use a Wordpress template for a blog hosted through blogger? It seems as though there are better templates designed for Wordpress. Thanks RChase Computer Consulting
If you are looking for blogger templates you can go to blogspotthemes.blogspot.com which has some nice template or go to ourbloggertemplates.com which has templates which are easily customizable. In your blog you state you have 7 years computer experience - if that is true then you can do a lot better then a "blogger" page. Why not get a wordpress page, a forum and get some real information posted?? Start you a youtube account and stream videos to your page. Take a look at your blog and then take a look at sharkyextreme or toms hardware. You have a good idea, but your starting off with a very limited platform. You have left yourself with very little or no room for expansion. How did sharky get to where he is today? It was by doing good and fair reviews of computer parts. If you ever hope to get a real computer website, stay away from those "blogger" accounts. Start with something that will allow you to grow and expand. Look at tomshardware. He still has processor charts from 10 year ago on his page. They are out dated, but it makes for good reading for people who remember "back when". What did tom and sharky do to get popular? Take that idea improve it and run with the ball.
~kev~ Thanks for your awesome response! I am thinking exactly like you are but I fall short on getting the design of the website started. I also checked with Randy from http://grownupgeek.com/ because he started the same way. Although I have 7 yrs experience, I barely have any with websites or web programming. Thanks again
Your welcome. As for not having the knowledge on websites, get involved in a community. There are so many options out there, its mind numbing. But what ever you do, leave yourself room for growth. I have been going to sharkys site for about 8 - 10 years now? And before that it was bluesnews. What makes them so popular? Because they had a nitch and they did it well. Take your experience, put it into a platform that is flexible and you will do well.
