Submitting to website directories

Do you guys constatnly submit to website directories or do u just submit to like a few and that it... u never submit again? I don't know what people are doing.. i just kinda wanna know what people are doing

 

I only submit to dmoz personally.

 

directories never work for me. I submited my site to botw and goguides.org but I didn't get asingle click for one week

 

Directory submissions will work; if you it properly!

When you read Google Webmaster guidelines, you will see that they even recommend to submit to directories.
Niche directories will work best, but takes some time searching for them.

For every new site, I always start with doing like 500 submissions. And depending on the competition in your keywords, you will see results. If you are optimizing for something like 'SEO' or 'make money online' only directory submissions will not make much difference to you. Simply because it's a drop of water on a hot plate. But for less competitive keywords, it might make a big difference. I have gotten sites on top rankings with directory submissions only. But of course, then you are not looking at low competitive keywords.

Directory submissions will not give you any high quality backlinks. And there is no way to compare 300 low quality links with 1 high PR link. You need all the links you can get.

 

I submit to as many free directories as I can, and I cherry pick the paid directories and list in them as well. Niche directories tend to send more traffic then general directories. Either way, links help to improve your ranks in the search engines.

 

I only choose quality directories to submit and I do the submission job weekly.

 

wow .. 500 directories.. how do you manage to sit on t he computer and submiting all day. Is there a service that does this for you?

 

Submit to directory is great way increase your pagerank quickly. 2month ago i submit to 150 directory and now my blog have PR 4.

 

where did you find all these directories? did you do this manualy? where can i find high pr ranked directories?

 

you can find the directories by typing in your keyword into google but add 'directory' after the words. I only submit to relevant directories for my business though for more quality links,

Submitting to directories takes time, but there are a lot of ppl offering this service here on DP..

 

just submit to all directories you can find. it will benefit you in the long run.

I agree. and this is what I do... I submit to directories all day long why I read forums... answer emails, write articles, and other things I do each day..

Over time it all adds up..
