For a little bit of background.... My current structure is: www.domain.com/CATEGORY-Keyword1-Keyword2/Title (doesn't rank well) www.domain.com/CATEGORY-Keyword1-Keyword2/ (just a place holder, does not exist) www.domain.com/Keyword1Keyword2/Category (ranks very well) What I want to do: I am thinking of changing... www.domain.com/CATEGORY-Keyword1-Keyword2/Title TO www.domain.com/Keyword1Keyword2/Category/Title Because the current pages for www.domain.com/CATEGORY-Keyword1-Keyword2/Title are not ranking well at all. Some pages don't even get indexed. Would you recommend this change or should I keep it the same? It would be a bit more of deep linking but at least the directory up exists in all folders and the page before would have PR. I appreciate ALL responses!!!
We have tried almost ever combination so far, the best we have done is the following: www.domain.com/keyword phrase 1 (the category)/keyword phrase 2 (the subcategory)/title (the detail page) The closest documentation from Google on this is for the description, but we use it for the <title> http://googlewebmastercentral.blogspot.com/2007/09/improve-snippets-with-meta-description.html Hope this helps.
Go ahead and change to the one which is working www.domain.com/Keyword1Keyword2/Category more closed the keywords to domain the better it is.
For me, I see no sense on having "category" at the end of the domain. For me, "www.domain.com/Keyword1Keyword2" format is enough.
