How do I get into Wikipedia?

    I read in Cypherus' 26 link building tricks post that I should try to get into Wikipedia. How is that done?

    Just edit the page, putting your links in appropriate places. Be prepared to have other people remove them.

    I would say, do not waste time trying unless you are a little more famous than who you are. It will be edited away and you will be considered a spammer. Wikipedia is for sharing of knowledge, any slightest commercial hint and you are edited out. It is definitely not for link development.

    plus wiki links are nofollow, so it wouldn't help in search results anyways ;)

    I agree with the advice by wisdomtool..one of the wisest advice :)
    As far as your link to wiki is concerned, just submit an article to wiki on a topic which you feel is important and is already not posted or if you have more info on any topic then edit it..

    I have a few wiki links and get good traffic from them.

    Issue is, the pages are content rich, loads of info and the link is totally relevant. Don't even try it unless your page is content rich and well done, it will be wacked super quick.

    if you are looking to get strong backlink from wikipedia, then thats not gonna happen as wikipedia is nofollow. you however can get traffic from wikipedia if you canget in there but you will need to something non-commercial which adds outstanding value to wikipedia readers. no commercial article or articles that have been previously posted on wikipedia will be accepted.
