That it doesn't validate the users submission details upon submission very well.

I honestly don't know what you mean...

You can get it to send approval emails and find incorrect email addresses, you can list spam words to automatically delete listings, you can block IP addresses, you can check recip links...

I haven't had any problems, it's still my fav script.

Do you know what "validate" means? If not you'll struggle to understand what we're on about.

I understand the meaning of validation I just don't understand what you mean by "doesn't validate the users submission details upon submission very well."... I don't understand which part of validating you're talking about? What's the difference to the other scripts?

I mean to doesn't validate what you wrote on the form when you press submit. I was merely expanding on SpiderMans statement. You'll need him to clarify and explain.

    Quick example here.

Go on your contact form. Only enter the captcha, press submit - only the first field gives an error message. So enter data into the first field, and then enter the captcha - you'll get an error only on the second field, etc, etc.

This is pretty much useless - what it really needs to do is flag every field/text area as being a requirement. The submission page wasn't much better, either.

It could be a good script, but at this moment in time, it's not.

Ok, I don't see how it acts differently from phpLD... If you don't enter something correctly (incorrect URL format, description or title too long/short etc) it brings up the message above the box or if all went well it says. Submitted etc etc. Oh well

Doesn't phpLD say "fix any errors and try again" then highlight them in red next to their respective boxes, like SipiderMan said it should be?

    phpLB works in this way.

Oh ok, does it really matter? You should just fill out the fields and if you don't it will warn you one by one :) oh well....... I like OpenLD!

I'm a bit surprised nobody has even mentioned Hyperseek DSx I know it's pricy, but there's nothig else that offers the total control of every aspect of a directory. Link bidding, 3 forms of paid placements, 3 flavors of backfill, templates that are completely controlled by category (if you have 300 categories you could have 300 different looks), ..and on and on

I just wanted to throw that out there

    cheers

    What I'd really like to know is;

Does someone make a directory with groups or classes built in? Something like esources? I've been looking for an access level directory script and can't find a thing out there.

    Cheers

google is penalizing directories sites,I know it from my own experience,so you should reconsider doing that.

Yes. I do. Post in Directories/Solicitations and Announcements and your directory will be populated in no time. For real. :)
