Month ago I was banned with out any warning when I didn't intended to bump a thread posting something like "I am interested please PM me more information" , instantly my account was banned for 1 week. I have seen also members who post at BST in site for sale, who didin't included URL and they let members to post PM me site URL and they were banned immediately.

But there are also thread in BST that doing the same violation as stated above, but this members were never banned even you report them. Some thread instead of banning them as we experience the mods only post a warning on them and remove those PM me more info post.

I guess that is a proof that some or most of the Mods are selective when it comes to enforcing the forum rules.

The mods can't be everywhere at once. They reply to posts reported by members and deal with situations as they arise. They aren't playing favourites.

I am not telling that policies is not fair what I am saying here is that the people implementing the policies are sometimes not fair. I have reported some thread since I was banned, because I have seen same violation as the violation I committed before and I was instantly banned with a single violation. And to all those report I made for all the violation I have found no one of those members were banned I guess and I have seen other thread which I have reported were also not banned instead the mods post a warning only to the OP to correct the problem and remove all the spam post.

Mods don't favour anyone whatever their reps or post count. MeetHere was one that got a 7 day ban and he has more posts than me.

Sorry but do you think your a mod or something, YOUR NOT so please stop acting like one (you have done in here before too), not only is it confusing to new members but it's gettin on my nerves.

To answer the OP's question, the mods don't have favouritism if you look at the list of mods: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showgroups.php you'll see that there is a banned mod, so proof they don't have favouritism ;)

^^ Rubeina it's not banned, his account was compromised and deleted. It's the DP procedure.

And yeah, mods (as any human) have their favorites. Still, if they have to ban them for breaking rules, they will ban them :) But please don't ask mods to be robots...

I guess it depends which moderator gets to the report first.

It all depends which moderator it is.

Some will immediately ban, some iwll give infractions.

Hey PinoyIto - I got banned for the exact same reason, no questions asked no warnings.

I know it sucks - I depend too much on the BST section here and I think some discretion should be used by the moderators in such circumstances for members that have say over a certain post count or a certain rep (or both).

Mind you I got infracted for complaining so Ive just shut up about it. Id respectfully suggest that doing the same is your best course of action.... ;)

    1. As TikTok has said, if you don't know the answer to a question in S&F positively, do not post. The same goes if the answer has already been given.

    2. Mods do not play favorites. I've banned old, high-post members, clients, and even friends under this new rule, and haven't over-turned a ban for anyone for any reason b/c of that. I know other mods are treating things the same way - that's why quite a few high-rep members have been hit.

We cannot find everything. That's just life. If you see something that shouldn't be there, report it. If it's been posted within the last 6 days, they should get the 7-day ban, if it falls within the scope of that ban. (6 days, so they're not penalized the same for things during a period where they may have already been serving a week-long ban - anything older will get an infraction instead).

On that note, under absolutely no circumstances are you allowed to start threads here to whine about infractions or bans. If you received either, you did something wrong. If you honestly think there was a mistake of some kind you should contact a mod privately.

This obviously isnt true. No favorites were played. They broke the rules they got the ban.

But as mods we cant view every single post made everyday. So not everyone was caught, yet.
