I take it you're meaning registering domains or buying them cheap then selling them on for a profit at a later date?

Doing this it's best to stick with short domains, with only letters in them (so no numbers  ). Also, avoid trademarks at all costs, and even mispellings of trademarks. Olympics orientated domain names are a big no-no aswell http://www.computerworld.com/industrytopics/retail/story/0,10801,46990,00.html" [sorry, can't post live links yet... a new user... :( ]

Just ask if you need any clarification

Yes I am planning to buy both new and already registered domains to make profit.

What is maximum length should I go for? All short domains does not have any keywords.

There isn't really a maxium length you should go for, its how many keywords are in, and I would try and stick to 2.

In my opinion a domain such as (completely fictional) FindLawFirmsFast.com would be worth a lot less that BusinessConsulting.com as it contains 4 words as opposed to just 2 words. A person is more likely to remember 2 words rather than 4, no matter how long the words are.

Personally, i'd say 2/3 keyword dot coms are the wisest option.

They're steady sellers. If you want some tips check out my latest free ebook - it shows you how to buy decent domain ad decent prices (some below reg fee).

Don't want to make assumptions, but I'm guessing you are new to the dn selling business?
Just some quick advice, never stop researching to see what dn's have sold, and for what $$.

Also, I would say that you stick with the shortest, yet effective word values as possible.
Obviously, it depends on what keywords are available, and what the trends are... for some keywords/ word values change daily. Again, just keep researching through blogs, sites, forums like DP for information.

I actaully don't have any specific links... however this is a prime opportunity to meet and network with other fellow DP members, for there are hundreds of people that are professionals at dn selling.

I'm sorry I couldn't be much more help, but I think that is the ebst advice you will have as a new DP member :) Always keep researching, communicating, adn networking. You do this well enough, you'll find DP as your new home :p
