Hey, if we all had the opportunity and support to chase our wildest dreams would we be fools to not go for it? The kid may be chasing an unrealistic dream, I really can't say how easy or difficult it is to break into pro gaming, but at least he is chasing the dream and has the support of his family to go for what he loves. And he is still getting educated with the tutor. Imagine what your life would be like if your high school dreams of being a rock star or what have you, were supported by your parents.

Seems as if he left traditional schooling and is now being home schooled... which is not a bad thing. Misleading title, IMO (not OPs fault).

Some might think this guy is stupid, but I think at least he has the b@lls to go and try to do something he wants. Sounds like a friend of mine who is 17 and is being home schooled and is trying to start a music career.

SOunds like a good plan. Dropping out of school to get better at a game that does not pay.

That's sorta sad that he dropped out but hey at least he's still getting his education through what seems like home schooling. Although I don't see how Guitar Hero can even lead to any career unless of course you design it.

I don't it. If he spend countless hours each playing a game he is not spending time learning anything.

Is he at least being home schooled?

You can drop out at 16 and still get a high school diploma...perhaps go professional, make some money, then go to college?

There's no problem doing something he loves.
Many success people are doing something only because they love what they do.

I know there is a youngster who is around 6 years old who makes money by charging people for Halo lessons. He earns something like $20,000 per annum from sponsers. He was in Guiness Book Of World Records. Lil Poison i think he was called.
