banned from adsense

I recently got banned from AdSense. The e-mail I recieved didn't even bother to say why I was banned! The only thing that could've happened was somebody trying to support us by clicking on the ads repeatedly. But that's not my fault. Anybody could disable an AdSense account by doing that. So I want to know if there is a way to track how many times a user clicks on an ad, and give him a warning if he's doing it too much. And also, do I stand a chance at getting my account +$40 back? Or should I just switch to a different company?

    Thanks for helping.

What does the email from Google say?

Go for an appeal. Send them your site logs.

You cant track who's clicking and how many times he/she is clicking and tell them to stop, that kind of tracking would be against privacy....but call up Google .

Accept that as a gift. There are industries that pay far more than AdSense. WAY more.

I used to live off adsense, now I laugh at it.

Also, I haven't yet bought my own domain name and server. Right now I'm using a site at pbwiki.com. I don't have access to the site logs. I was going to buy my own site as soon as I got my first payment from google.

    @Sohan
$40 from less than 1000 visits is pretty good I think. I have had 700 visits. But I guess that's just on the home page. so probably around 3000 total impressions.

If it was invalid clicks, you should have gotten Google's form letter that said that. My understanding is that the "significant risk" letter more likely refers to the content or ad placement on your site. Look very carefully at the Adsense program policies and make sure you have followed them to the letter.

Before you send in an appeal, you need to figure out why you were banned and be able to convince Google that you have fixed the problem.

    Frankly speaking.....

You will not gonna get you account back ..... so easily...
When a company grows, they dont bother for their clients.
They dont refer the detailed info for the account, that where are the clicks from, or else.
They just set a upper limit for various circumstances and if the activities cross that limit, the a/c is flagged which follows that the a/c is disabled.

You must dont waste you time, thinking that ur a/c will be back.
There are thousand of a/c that had been disabled... But very little part of them are online again.
They may sometime give the a/c back only to those big website owners who can earn them lot.
They dont bother for small websites...

I advise you to try Adbrite, Bidvertiser... FreedomAds...

Sounds you are another victim of click fraud. Until now, google can't handle this problem. Lots of people being banned by adsense because of click fraud that google can't identify this.

Sorry to hear that. They do have click abuse safeguards so it might not be someone clicking the ads a lot. Maybe traffic source or content on the pages?

That letter usually means it was related to the content (or lack of) of the site or image placement next to the ads, not click fraud. A lot of MFA sites are getting those letters.

    MFA means ???

Usually the ban is from violation of the TOS of google which usually is Click Fraud.

If you are banned for click fraud, the letter usually states so.

MFA = Made For Adsense i.e. sites with very little, if any, real content. Sites thrown up with a bunch of ads just to get people to click ads as a way to leave the site. Google has been trying to clean up their content network sites and a lot of site owners with little useful content on their sites are being terminated. It's always been in the TOS, it's just that they are starting to more aggressively enforce it.
