I am wondering if I do any of the following, if it will increase my SERPS? 1. Submit to site to 500 directories. 2. Submit my site to 20 social bookmarking sites 3. Buy a PR6 Link for my site in the niche it's in. Or am I better just submitting articles with anchor texts in bio? If so how many per week>> Any ideas?
No It may increase your site's page rank, but it will have no effect on you SERP placement. What will help your SERP placement is the "link information" placed the directories. Verify that they do not use the "nofollow" attribute on your outbound links. As for buying a link, it will work as long as Google or your competitors do not find out. Most high PR sites that sell links have had their PR dropped to 2 or gray barred. As a result, the link will have no value. As for Bookmarking sites, verify that they do not use the "nofollow" attribute. Most do. If I was doing this, I would do the Bookmarking sites first with specific emphisis on the Sig Links and then Fourms like DP. Next would be the directories that allow "DoFollow" links, but you will not gain PR but the Anchor Text you us will help your home page keyword phrase. Buying links have not worked for me. To lose the link for any reason has a major impact on your site because it is not permanent.
Hi geester, I feel these things are not enough for building up a good site. There are various other important methods that needs to be implemented...like writing and submitting blogs, articles, social networking, link baits etc... Between..did you SEO ed your site? Please let me know...
As per my opinion it's better you go with article submission. because article submission sites give quality backlinks and quality traffic too. Apart from that submitting site to 500 directories and submitting site to 20 social bookmarking sites also works to generate organic traffic. buying links with PR6 will work for some search engines, some search engines will not count paid links as back links. keep this in mind and try to get more organic links by article submission, press release and other ethical seo tactics.
If you do submit articles, make sure that you don't just have your link in your bio, but also have it in your resource box. If your articles are unique, and usefull, then article marketing can be very effective.
yeah, help to your site, Link and content is important. Or am I better just submitting articles with anchor texts in bio? is better
Oh, man there are some bad responses on this thread. All of the 3 things mentioned will have a positive effect on SERPS if done right. I don't buy links or submit to directories, and most social bookmarking sites are nofollow. The publicity from any of these may be enough to get you some natural external links. They are all good. Articles with links are a good idea.
Yes it will help.. But it is not enough to boost your SERPs ranking. Always remember that those things are just off page. The important thing was to optimize first you on page specially your content. For off page, there are lots of techniques you can use there..
What do you mean it will not help boost SERPS. We are talking search engine results positions which are volitile to changes dependant upon a variety of factors. Mostly inbound links.
I didnt say it will not help.. I've said that i is not enough if you only do those things.. Please read first..
Thanks for your comments, I already submit at least 2 articles per week for the past 2 months and I have noticed a huge increase in SERPS. I have also participated in Social Bookmarking but I feel it's a waste of time (personally) for my niche. The site is SEO'd, so it's the off page stuff I need to do now!
What are the other do follow links social bookmarking site? I also used Squidoo and you are right it is effective in getting links in google.
