Have they started already? My rankings suddenly plummeted for no apparent reason.

that would require more manual staff for google. It may not be a near term possibility..

Umm, hmm. Anyone else notice the "November 28, 2007," stamped on that article? Regardless it was just testing and it hasn't been around now for over 6 months. Kinda old news buddy, lol.

Wasn't it user specific only, as in it only effected your own results (not the data centre results)?

The Digg style google looks cool. I think that will help users to see the results that they want to see when they search for some keyword.

Digg is dumb....they only dig stuff that is pro-obama, anti-mckain, pro video games, anti-love life. :)

I am sure this was posted months ago, and then, no one believed that it would be something that Google would do.

Think of it logically - a system like this would be open to abuse.
Also, what percentage of Google users do you think would go through the process of opening a Google account in order to be able to vote for sites ???

Sounds nice in theory, but in practise, a system like this is too flawed to be of any real use.

    Just my thoughts though.

Can't see this happening. Instead of 'link farms' we're gonna have 'click farms' where people simply digg each other sites. And it's far to easy for a competitor to bury any site they want.

It reminds me of the silly "you Stumble me, I'll Stumble you" threads of the past.

Google are winning the search engine war already and are highly successful with their current algo. Why change things drastically? Doesn't sound like likely to me.

Lol...sad but true (well mostly). :D

Back to topic...I don't see digg style voting at google as a possibility at all. This would mean a massive change in their algorithm and I doubt it would contribute to the relevancy factor google is after.

I do not think this is something that google is going to do because they already have
a system that works well, why will they change it?

Wow that's huge. I'm surprised they want digg. Alexa just started devaluing their traffic.
