You need to purchase hosting and point your DNS to that host. Then, download the files from www.wordpress.org and upload them to your host.(server). Then, create a MySQL database and link the database to config.php file. That was only brief. However, PM me if you want me to do that for your
It is easy to setup your own blog even if you have never done it b4. 1.first you will need your own domain name(namecheap.com) is a good registrar but any good regiatrar will do. 2.hosting account,You will need to find a hosting account for your blog. You could go with wordpress they are free but very limited.I can help you there with hosting(blogshoster.com) 3.point your domain to your new hosting account,Most hosts will help you with this if you dont know how. 4.once you have your own hosting account you will need to install your blog, There is no need to dload or upload any scripts for this, All you need is a hosting account that provides FANTASTICO SCRIPT INSTALLER, An that comes standerd with all Blogs Hoster Accounts. So you just login to your cpanel account locate fantastico from the cpanel homepage find wordpress from the list of scripts and it will be installed automaticly. 5.login to you blogs admin and choose your theme and add some articles. All done. I can set you up with a hosting account and install your blog for you,I will throw in 1 month free to get you started and after that month our hosting service is only $2.pm.
So whats the deal if you have an existing website with its own pages and you would like to add a blog to this can you do that with wordpress blogs and not delete the rest of your website. Cheers Harland
Hey, thanks to both of you. I already have my own domain and I successfully installed wordpress by using cpanel through FANTASTICO SCRIPT INSTALLER But, I'm not able to login in website using wordpress... so what i suppose to do? Will it take time or I did wrong something. pls help.. Thanks
At the time of installing wordpress, did you note the admin username and password? The username is what you choosed during installation, but the password is randomly generated during installation. For more info, refer this: http://codex.wordpress.org/Installing_WordPress#Using_cPanel I suggest you run install script and post screenshot here. http://example.com/blog/wp-admin/install.php
Use the username and password to sign in to WordPress via www. yoursite .com/wp-admin Add /wp-admin to your site and you will get a log in box. For Ex : if my site is www.google.com , I have to sign in at www.google.com/wp-admin
Thats right you simply add a new folder (blog) or whatever you want and install wordpress there. Lol if you dident take note of your admin user and pass you will have to install again. If you did remember it yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ if you need to un-install just go back to fantastico and un-install and re-install Hope this helps
Hi Dear, I know that I have to use yourdomain.com/wp-admin/ for login But, When I tried to enter username and password it again comes to http://yourdomain.com/wp-login.php page...
It seems its not installed correctly. If i were you i would just run the install again. If your getting no errors just reverts back to the login page then somet is wrong. Just un-install using fantastico and re-install should be ok
Go to Cpanel Then Click Fantastico Then click Wordpress on the left hand side in the fantastico menu (Under Blogs category) Then click New Installation (Colored in Blue) Fill up the details. Light up a ciggie or have a shot of tequilla, cause its done!
I never cared much for Fantastico. So often there are bugs and problems when you install a script through that. Here are step by step instructions on how to setup a WordPress blog If you take a llok at that and follow the steps you sholdnt have any problem getting your WP blog up and running
Hey Guys, Finally, I have done it and I'm quite happy. Thanks you so much to all of you for your help. Thanks....
