A bunch of people on DP have found commenting on dofollow blogs to be an effective way of building backlinks (including myself) but I haven't really seen a thorough guide to building dofollow backlinks posted here, so here it is (original guide linked to in this paragraph). Basically, all you have to do is: 1. Find a few DoFollow blogs with high homepage PR (I've seen a correlation between high homepage PR and high post PR). A good place to look is this list of 100 blogs using the CommentLuv plugin as well as this DoFollow search engine. 2. Download the "Google Pagerank Checker" tool on SEO Junkie. It lets you plug in a website URL and gives you the PR of all of its pages. Note: it seems to be a bit buggy as of now. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Still, it's the only tool of its kind that I've found. OR: Internal Pagerank Checker OR Internal Pagerank Checker - both are still great alternatives for checking internal pagerank. 3. Insert a blog URL inside of the program and wait for it to finish its checking. Then, click the PR button to organize by high PR. Voila - you've got a bunch of quality dofollow backlinks to use for your link building purposes. 4. Make quality blog comments. That's the key word here - quality. No one wants to read stuff like "gr8 post m8" or "lol" or "click here for free medication." In short, don't be a comment whore. You can also make money online with dofollow blog comments, which I've written about too. What do you guys think?
Instead of taking all that time to check the pagerank why not just go ahaed and post? Even if its a nofollow or low pagerank you could still get traffic from the link. Is there a penalty to posting on nofollow or low PR blogs?
Great post I started building backlinks here at DP earlier this year and I have seen great results in the serps.
True. It's just that higher pagerank links are "worth" more than low PR/nofollow links. You can still get traffic with them, too.
I don't care much for checking PR of a page before commenting, I am typically going to write a comment that is actually contributing towards the blog and it's discussion and as a result I often make it into a few blog rolls. Doing what everybody else does will give you the results that can be expected of everybody else
It has been proven that high PR dofollow blog comments not only bring you quality back link but also bring you instant organic traffic.I have been working on this myself and there are many success stories in here at DP where in you will see that they moved very high on SERPS just doing blog comments. However you should try to target the blogs in your niche as much as possible as blogs that don't belong to your niche don't carry much value. Also one thing you should keep in mind is dofollow or nofollow you should always comment on good posts as that can attract you some good visitors .
Blog postings are really great for back linking. And this is why the 'do follow' movement is promoting the do follow blogs. Honest links for honest commenters. And yes, please, like MoneyMoose says, write a quality comment. These bloggers are working hard on their blog, gaining a lot of PR and giving away all these great, free, one-way links. At least give them a little quality comment in return for that. Is it that hard to read a page and come up with a few lines to add to it in exchange for a genuine PR4 link to your site? Buying a PR4 link will cost you a lot more work than these 15 minutes. I do have a do-follow blog and got it listed in the do follow search engine. The results of that? About 250 SPAM comments per quality comment. Personally, I am not totally against SPAM, as long as it works for you. But there is really no point in wasting your time writing blog posts that never make it onto the site. Not for the blog owner nor the spammer.
Exactly. That just makes more work for everyone. I advocate actually reading the blog post, and making a comment about something you've actually read there. That's one way to stay away from posting spam.
I personally don't see much value in comments anyways... unless you have a strong interaction with your readers, making your blog dofollow just opens yourself up to spam central... for some of my wordpress blogs I use a plugin called Lucia's Linky Love (I'd post the download link but I'm new and can't post live links yet) but just Google it you'll find it... what it does is allow you to make your blog dofollow, but the links only become dofollow after the author has commented x amount of times. (min 3) It's pretty helpful if you really want your blog to be dofollow
Some months ago, I found this interesting software called Fast Blog Finder. Sadly, it is not available on non-windows systems, and I’m a Mac and Linux user. --------------------------------- pandreson Viral marketing
I saw this link in your sig and checked it out. I've got a problem with Google PageRank checker. I can't move the program so i can see the bottom of the program. Any suggestions on how to sort this out?
