Bad News for DP Writers

    Make you look.

Don't you just love great headlines? Writing headlines that move people is my favorite thing in the whole world.

    Let's me ask you something.

If I made a free audio presentation about how you're going to be poor in the future if you rely on writing for clients and how you could be well off and in command of your own future instead, would you be interested?

Perhaps I'll tell you a story about how one day I took $10,000 in orders and flushed them down the toilet and how I went on to make even more money because of it. And more importantly, how you can apply the same principles to do better in your own life.

For now, let me ask you something. If you were going to receive a free guidance report to help you make more money, be more secure and have a better future as a writer, would you rather it focus on:

    1. How to make you a "better" writer.

    OR

    2. How to make more money by using whatever writing skills you have.

    ?????

    Looking forward to knowing.

If nothing else, perhaps this will help guide the forum to better threads (God knows it needs it).

Are you making the biggest mistake of all? If you're not following me on Twitter you are. My Sig holds the brass ring (go follow me on Twitter now).

Hmmm. Could you be missing out on something if you don't respond? Life is full of decisions.

You'd best go with the second option - making more money with the skills you have. That's the most viable option for most writers around here. If they haven't improved their writing by now, they probably won't make that particular effort.

LOL - I would love to hear more about ways to make more money with the skill set that I already have. Since I haven't won a Pulitzer or other award, I would assume that I can always improve on my writing skills. However, I would rather work smarter than harder any day of the week.

I'm not on Twitter but I will sign up later this week when I have more time as I am intrigued by your comments. If you seriously put your thoughts and ideas down "on paper", so to speak, I would love to read what you have to say.

    LOL.

Twitter isn't mine and really had nothing to do with the post.

Actually, I'm interested to find out the mindset of the people here. Are writers interested in getting better as a way to move up the income later (perhaps) or more interested in learning how to make more money with what skill they have now?

And as a bad boy, I'm always bad news. ;)

Hmm, its the headline that really spooks you, but then writing is all about the ability to hold attention isn't it. As for the content in the thread, I would assume the smarter way to move forward is to keep improving your skill set as you progress, and I would prefer to be a better writer at any given day rather then look for short term gains. A good writer can become a great writer one day, but an average writer not looking to go further is sure to stagnate.

    Made me look..

The headline has to draw the reader in. I usually open threads that have interesting subject lines and this one managed to get me curious enough to find out what's happening.

I'd certainly go with the second option of making more money using the writing skills one has and I guess that's what most writers would be interested in.

Your talk about flushing down $10,000 gets you another follower on Twitter.

Yup made me look as well. I do follow twitter. I also know that twitter has put a limit on followers at 2000.

Personally, I am not into schemes. I do realize people make money. But I feel eventually by the 100+ user the fun dwindles along with the money. Than off to the next marketing scheme.

    Anyways.... Good luck

Curious comment. What exactly are you talking about?

Sounds like you're a MLM or something (shudders).

No I am not into MLM. Like I said I am not into schemes. I realize you are trying to self promote a self help item. But the way it came off to me sounded like a MLM. I shudder reading things that are written in such a manner. I personally am not into MLM and have not tried. I am more of a doubting Thomas in such business related issues.

So you have never tried MLM and are not into MLM, but a fun post for writers in a "for writers" forum sounds like MLM?

    Interesting. :D

I'm glad you're not into "schemes." I don't think any of us are. Well, I hope not--certainly not MLM crap.

Speaking of which, are you a writer? If so, what's your specialty?

Since this forum is for writers, like me, I'd like to see more relevant conversation that focuses on the intent of the other writers here (hence the question in my post).

Looking forward to hearing more from you.

a great headline means nothing if you click out of whatever it is after you find out its completely unrelated, or the content is not interetesting.

kind of like this thread. i lost interest right away, no idea what your talking about, and was not expecting it from what your headline was.
