With the new RSS compatibility, I wanted to verify whether or not my site's RSS is usable with AdSense? I use this feed: http://www.danscartoons.com/Cartoons-For-Electronic-and-Print.xml and it is accessible off of the orage RSS button on my index page: http://www.danscartoons.com
You'll need to set-up an account with FeedBurner first, and have your feed go through them. Once you do that, you should be all set.
Thanks MickMel. I set up an account with FeedBurner, and then activated the feed and chose a Google chicklet to paste on my home page here and scroll down on right hand side of page you ought to see the chicklet. I did set it up so I could incorporate one of the 468X60 adsense ads with the daily image. My big question is, where is the adsense? I just don't see it . . .
If you do it properly, the ads will show up in your feed. You seem to have two feeds right now: http://www.danscartoons.com/Cartoons-For-Electronic-and-Print.xml http://feeds.feedburner.com/CartoonsForElectronicAndPrintxml You need to change the "RSS" button to point to the FeedBurner feed, then get people using that one. In your case, it might be kind of tricky to do it right. I'd suggest the following: - Change the URL of your local feed (the first one listed above), but don't link it on the site. - Edit your FeedBurner settings to point to the new, hidden feed. - Set-up a 301 redirect from your old feed address (again, the first one listed above) to point to the FeedBurner feed. This will get ALL of your subscribers to use the FeedBurner feed, which has many advantages -- AdSense being one of them. I hope that helps.
First question: how to change the URL of the Feed on my site (the first one):http://www.danscartoons.com/Cartoons-For-Electronic-and-Print.xml and then when you say don't link it, do you mean delete it completely from the site? So only that Google chicklet is usable?
I have no idea. You must have generated it in the first place, so just change it to something different. You only want people to use the FeedBurner link for their RSS needs. You can leave the RSS icon up there, but have it point to the FeedBurner feed instead of your local feed.
