Hi, Just thought I had to share it with you - a 2 month old website got ranked for "car customization", "car pimping" and "auto customization" in 2 months since domain registration. The trick? SEO customization of previously SEO unfriendly oscommerce, big website size, 200 social bookmarks and about 300 blog postings on a different C-class IP network bought and done within a week. Not all blog posts are even cached yet. Anyone has any similar stories to share? RS
that is impressive. when you say you are getting ranked for those terms what position do you refer to? hardly number 1.
One solid high quality backlink can do wonders with a new site. What's a high quality link? A link from another site closely related to your niche, with any outbound URL's only going to other niche related sites. It helps if the page URL and title include your keywords in it, and it is especially important that the page ranks good for the keywords you are targeting. The page should be cached, and it always helps if it has some PR (which means it has plenty of backlinks and to some degree authority). I'm one that believes the sandbox is strictly a myth. If you quickly develop a quality backlink profile, your site will rank well within a month or two. Notice how I said quality. The problem with many blogs is that there can be many outgoing comment links. These links tend to go to all sorts of unrelated sites. The same normally applies to social bookmarking as well.
Do you mean a real blog posting or blog commenting? And if you mean real blog posting, what PR did those blogs have?
Blog commenting is great for getting in with Google but you also need to make sure with a new site that you are properly distributing your comments into the right niche.
Congratulations with getting out of sandbox. And if you do it right, blogging can certainly gain you 10 - 20 backlinks a day
