I have been yo-yoing up and down on the search engines. Just when I think I am getting to the first page I get knocked down. This has been going on for years. I do not have a lot of competition so I think it would be pretty simple. I am also ready to pay some money to get it done if necessary. My site is www.sierra-vista-homes-land.com, it is a real estate site in a relatively small town. The competition is a few old websites that have little content but have been up for a long time. What is the best way to get to the top of Goggle and stay there?
Get a few good backlinks with the anchor text of the term you want to rank for and you will be #1 spot in no time. Try to get a few PR5-6 backlinks and you will rise and they will fall.
If you have lots of money to spend - you can always use Adwords. However, if you are motivated to work hard, then keep trying different SEO methods. Best methods for Google is to have lots of backlinks, but keep in mind backlink source should be related to your website content. However, you have to try both onpage seo methods and offpage seo methods and take that to perfection for stay longer at the top.
I looked at your site as I am Tucson based. I would not worry so much about getting on the first page until you had a much better website to visit. We believe it is best to fix usability issues before doing SEO... Just a thought.
Now you have me worried. My site seems to work when I go there. What is not working for you? I understand that my forclosure age is under construction.
i would say get some good backlinks with high PR sites and with nice anchor text with some good keywords. It would be really nice if you could get some backlinks from PR7 or higher sites.
My suggestions is use some advanced traffic strategies like PLR marketing, ezine marketing, email marketing. These brings you potential. Also kaboodle.com is worth watching.
I think what he's referring to is investing in a more aesthetically pleasing website. Right now from my point of view the website does not look very professional. I would suggest getting a re-vamp of your site, and the starting from scratch with proper SEO processes.
nothing is truly permanent in SEO, but if you want consistency, you need topical related links from your industry. focus on this more and watch your rankings be stable
There are a few problems in your on-page seo as far as I can see with a fast glance at the page and source. I'll start with your meta tags. These are important for the Search engines to index your page accurately. Here is what you have: <title>Sierra Vista Arizona real estate Homes and Land</title> <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=ISO-8859-1"></meta> <meta name="Description" content="Sierra Vista Arizona real estate Homes and Land"></meta> <meta name="Keywords" content="Sierra Vista Arizona, real estate, homes land, forclosure, relocation, huachuca, military"></meta> I'll break it down here a bit. Let's take the title meta tag. <title>Sierra Vista Arizona real estate Homes and Land</title> It matches your meta tag description, content exactly, that's good, but I think you can juice the title and content by saying: <title>Sierra Vista Az - Homes and Land For Sale - Military Relocation</title> Along that line, it will target more specifically the keywords of users you seek to bring to your site. Then your meta keywords has a few issues to my eyes. <meta name="Keywords" content="Sierra Vista Arizona, real estate, homes land, forclosure, relocation, huachuca, military"></meta> The original foreclosure was a typo... I would add more keywords, and break the phrases down as well into one word. Example: <meta name="Keywords" content="Sierra Vista Arizona, sierra, vista, arizona, real estate, real, estate, for sale, home, homes, land, forclosure, foreclosure, foreclosures, relocation,huachuca,military"></meta> Then the Header tags in the content. Your first H1 tag introduces your family. <h1 style="text-align: center;">Hi, we are the McNabs, Mike and Peg</h1>That is where you should strategically place some keywords or phrase. Introduce yourself in a paragraph tag instead. <h1 style="text-align: center;">Sierra Vista Arizona Real Estate - Homes and Land For Sale Specializing in Military Relocation</h1> as an example. Your next header tag is an h2 that says below are our listings. You should take that header tag and put some other key words into it...below are listings for homes and land for sale in sierra vista Arizona.... Make sure you have relevant content in the first paragraph or two of the body as well. There are just a few examples to help you with on-page SEO. I am sure that my suggestions will help boost your page in rank should you decide to use them. Let me know. I can give you more advice, but time is money. It took me a long time to learn what I know about SEO. I'm sure others can verify that what I have said is good advice. Have a great day! Scifipie Guy
Lol, is that sarcasm or sincere? ROFL either way. The other guys had good advice too. Especially the backlinks from high PR sites.
What is your top keyword? "Sierra Vista Arizona" If this is the case, your website is about real estate in Sierra Vista, AZ, not the Sierra Vista. If you are targeting another keyword, placing it in the Title of the home page should help dramatically. If you are targeting Sierra Vista, then I would suggest more information about Sierra Vista.
My top kywords are "Sierra Vista Arizona real estate" I changed my title. It is hard to find good sites to get links from. If a good site will give you a link, wether you have to pay for it or not, the link usually is many pages down and grouped in with many other links. How do you find real good links that are woth paying for?
Lol, I spend a good 45 minutes checking out this guys pages and giving constructive criticism, all my points are valid, and he doesn't even acknowledge it? <not a flame, but an observation> Good luck Booboo. Scifipie Guy re-learned a valuable lesson from you. Don't do anything free. Good day sir. I said Good Day! (Fez from the 70's show) Muahahahaha.
I did everything "Scifipie Guy" recommended because I know you were right. Not quite sure what you learned by helping me. Hope it means you will help others. If you are mad that I have not said thanks yet. Sorry, I am very grateful to everyone who helps me out here. I may not be able to help out others with this subject but I sure spend a lot of my time helping others in my field of work with no pay. Sorry I was not quick enough with the thanks for you, I figured this thread had a lot more life and to fill it up with thank you posts would be silly so I planed to save that for last. Is that bad etiquette?
