Is there anyone actually sending error reports to Microsoft

I've been using XP for lots of years and it crashes everytime.
I kind of get used to it, and if it does not crash for a long time, i get paranoid and think there is something wrong with my computer.

Anyway, everytime when something goes wrong, windows show you a window, saying how sorry they are and ask for you to send error report to them.

I wonder if anyone actually sends.

(I tried it once, and it also crashed, so never tried it again)

Sure..I send them. The idea isn't that they respond to you, but that sending the report includes pretty deep debugging information. They don't act on every one that's sent, but it does help them find trends.

So, for example, if a popular website creates a page that triggers an IE bug, they will get an avalanche of error reports that show what happened ( buffer overflow, etc ). Then they use that information to create a patch that's sent out with windows update.

Stop installing cracked crap-ware and it won't crash. I haven't had mine crash for years. Windows doesn't crash, your crappy software you use does.

I just cancel it off anyway, I don’t know what purpose does it serve. Microsoft has to ensure that the OS is bug free before they sell it to us. They don’t expect to charge us and at the same time use us as guinea pig to tell them what went wrong.

What do we have to send to Microsoft error reports for?

They don't give you any feedback nor improve their product. First thing I do is install TuneUp Utilities to prevent send reports to Microsoft by any means whaterver the application, including Windows Media.

    That is not true. Period.

Are you running unpatched XP? If you are, send me your IP address and I'll change your mind.

I've disabled error reporting on my computer so the prompt never comes up when my programs crash :D.

Yup, I do, just because it makes you feel that something is being done about the problem, not that anything will be done, of course, it is Microsoft.

    Exactly!
I don't want to send any information to Microsoft. It does not help anyway! I have had the same problems in Outlook for years. Microsoft products suck!

I'll do it occasionally, unless I am in a hurry and cannot wait for the few seconds it takes to complete! :D

    LOL

When I used windows I'd get it quite often. It seems like microasssoft doesn't care, or thier "report error" button is a trick to make people think thier actually trying to fix windows bugs HA!!!!

Anyways, mircosoft prolly gets so many error reports that it will take another 10 years before they get around to reading yours...and then it won't matter because xp won't exist any more.

Thats VERY rare....you've won the lottery
