    1- do i need any html/php knowledge ( like a lot )?
You don't need any knowledge of HTML or PHP as you can use templates that are pre made for yourself, however a basic amount of knowledge does help to get you started.

2-how much do i need ($$) to start?
You don't need any money to get started you could start by using blogger where they host your website for you, using their own domain name that you create. However i do recommend using your own domain name and hosting yourself, if you choose to do this you will have a hosting cost anywhere from $1.99 upwards.

3- does posting on ezine etc... actually get you sales?
Bum marketing and using ezine articles does get you sales and can be a great place to start learning about affiliate marketing. I would definitely advise you to use ezine articles especially whilst getting to know the affiliate marketing game.

4- is it important to get search engine traffic?
Search engine traffic is important as it brings in targeted customers, and dependant on the keywords you target it can bring large amounts of targeted traffic which with the right sales pitch and product can make your job easy peasy.

    Hope this helps.

I think having knowledge of basic html is a good asset. A basic knowledge of it can be learned in an hour. It's not necessary though.

You can do this for free, which I wouldn't recommend. This is one of the cheapest businesses you can get involved in. You can get started for roughly $10-15. If you can't afford that, than you probably have bigger fish to fry.

    Yes.

Yes. It is the most targeted traffic you can get. It's the golden ticket to continuous sales.

A lead would be a potential customer. Typically the term is used in email marketing when you have a list of emails that you'd view as potential leads. Hops is a term for Clickbank. It has to do with click throughs if I'm not mistaken. It isn't an important term and you don't need to know it.

I've said this before but when it comes to affiliate marketing, I recommend Jeremy Palmer. Go to his site www.quityourdayjob.com and get his free ebook. Then listen to his black ink project tutorials.
He's a PPC affiliate but the principles apply.

I would use Wordpress to make web sites and pay someone to help you customize them (pretty reasonable, under $200 on these forums for a decent quality site). Host it on your own server though because Wordpress can delete your blog for making money on it.

Sign up for Commission Junction (CJ.com) and create sites around programs that are doing well. Choose a niche, research it. You either have to learn SEO or run paid search ads.

There's a lot to learn and different styles/ways to do affiliate marketing.

    Good luck!

alright but say i use my own domain, make a blog on blogger but get a wp theme, is that a good way to start?

Then, i sign up at clickbank, find a product that i want to sell then i do a sales pitch on my blog right?

Can anyone give me an example of one?

-> then i post on ezine and other.... but should i also post on craigslist?

After this ( and i mean only submiting about 30 articles to various places) should i make atleat one sale?

Oh and where can i learn basic html within a day or two?

    - I wouldn't bother with Craigslist, they just ban you or remove the ad immediately.

    - Not necessarily, it's tougher than you think to generate sales. For a veteran marketer 30 articles will probably generate many sales, for a newbie, it might not generate any.

    - Screw HTML, buy Dreamweaver or another WYSIWYG editor and go from there. You don't even need basic HTML knowledge for affiliate marketing.

    1- do i need any html/php knowledge ( like a lot )?
No you don't. But i really suggest you learn some basic HTML. It's really easy adn will only take like an hour or so.

2-how much do i need ($$) to start?
Nothing, start with bum marketing. Lot's of people do really well with just free methods.

3- does posting on ezine etc... actually get you sales?
It gets you traffic, and traffic = sales. But there are a lot of other sites to post to as well as ezine...

4- is it important to get search engine traffic?
search engine traffic really helps a lot. you will get it naturally if you have a good site.

    5-what are leads and hops?
hops is the amount of clicks you get to your clickbank affiliate link

    A little HTML helps.

    Not necessarily, but it helps.

    Yeah it does.

It gives backlinks, and they really help ;)

A lead is when you get a user to sign up to a service, fill out an offer etc. A hop is when you send a visitor to a clickbank publisher's sales page.
