I could've gotten grade.me for maybe $1k or less. Instead I forgot to check back on the auction and someone took it for $500...

I'm not domain expert but I've heard from my friend's mouth that .ME domains worth the same as BE, NAME, MOBI and many other extension that are trendy for some time before becoming inconsequential.

As I said, no idea on my own.

you could think you are investing in domain names. when someone will pay you high price, you could sell it the others.

I've heard a lot of people being sceptical about the .ME extension but I personally don't think you can compare it to NAME or MOBI - look at how commonly used they are in sentences, particularly in short sentences where they are the last word. "Name and "mobi" are just not common or popular enough as words. However, with .ME you have things like "insure me", "date me", "entertain me", etc .BE is better than .NAME and .MOBI but "be" is still not quite as common or popular as "me" to end a short sentences as it's a verb. There are so many possibilities for .ME domains.

If your game is thoughtlessly picking up keyword domains to squeeze a few cents out of search engine traffic using adsense, then domain extensions don't make any difference. I think it's people like that who don't understand the value of .ME domains and are therefore sceptical - it's a different way of thinking. If your game is picking up domains that are brandable, catchy, make sense and generally have great marketing potential, then in my personal opinion .ME domains are right up there with the best of them.

i don't think that they are worth buying, unless you can make the me stand for something in the name.

I think the .me domains are best for pesonal about you sites, which is what i think they were targeting for. Example: couch.me might be a real word, but it makes no sense, and wouldn't really be usable. But jessica.me would be worth alot.

So i don't think there is much market value in them overall. i personally wouldnt buy one unless it was my actual name.

I agree with Perfect Square...there are still gems out there. I got remoteassist.me last week. I had been looking at a lising on Sedo for remote.me...the asking price was 5,000 euros.

I'm with JeffBeer09 - unless it makes sense for your brand I probably wouldn't buy one. Probably want to do a lot of research on selling them and prices before jumping in too deep.
I wonder if .biz or other extensions besides .com, .org, .edu sell well.
ICANN is considering letting anyone apply for a domain extension - which would be interesting.
I want to know if your extension hurts or helps your search engine rankings - I know .info can hurt you. What about .me?
    Thanks
    Janet

I think the main problem with .info is the fact it's always been possible to reg .info domains for less than $1 so lots of people have picked .info domains up for cheap and setup shitty pointless adsense sites - this has resulted in .info sites getting a bad name. Only time will tell how .me domains are viewed but with .me registration currently at $40 I would expect (or at least hope) that the same thing won't happen to .me!

I think of all the domains out there the .me's will become some of the most popular. I think that people will take more interest in their own sites and put more effort into them resulting in better quality.

Sure, right now the prices are inflated, and soon those price will drop then a short time later the prices will start an uphill climb. at least this is what's in my head. i expect to see content 3x's what the info's have on them and there will be some real jewels come out of these name, some big sites.
