#1 on MSN, Gone in Google!

I noticed yesterday that I was no longer on page 2 of google for one of my sites (not mentioning any name for now) for the search term bid directory. My site is not even in the top one thousand.

At the same time, it appears I have taken the #1 spot on MSN for that very search term. Hmmmm, makes me wonder.

Everything I do is organic and, I hope this is a google burp, and getting ready to re-position the site. Do sites vanish and then reappear later? Its been 2 or 3 days since I last knew it was listed on google.

The MSN thing is good, but Google accounts for 75% of the market, so I would like to be loved by them also.

Has anybody experienced this before, or have any ideas what might be going on?

Not to worry. All of the SE's do little dances where they drop and then re-list, drop and re-list. It happens to all of us.

Keep building solid, keyword-focused content and you'll be listed again in no time. ;)

Might be a stupid question. I have heard that term thrown around before, but what is it?

I've recently seen the same situation with a couple sites. Something funny is right when it's back on Google... MSN disappears.

    Weird.

It's the teeter tauter affect between Msn, and Google. I have no explanation of it, but it happens.
