Ok, so I know this is general chat, but in this sub forum anything goes.

I have been looking for a programmer to create a security software targetted at keeping children safe online, but I dont seem to be able to find one decent programmer, does anyone else have the same problem?

The software will be client based and as soon as I say that there are suddenly no people interested!

    MADNESS

No matter how you do it, the objective is still the same. This is bumping... Your previous threads shows that you have been using the same tactic. Bumping is still bumping...

DP is a terrible place to get programmers given that the majority of people are just here to try and get rich quick online, which doesn't jive with putting time into learning a skill like programming.

I recommend trying to find a programmer that is local to your area that you can meet with in person. This is the only way to ensure that you will get what you want and to know that the programmer knows what you are talking about and can deliver.

It is hard to find a good, honest programmer that is honest about their abilities online. I have tried some freelance services and websites as well, but I have had best results with finding a programmer locally that I can meet with in person and keep up with the progress of my job.

I agree with this, there are also people who claim they are qualified to do the project but in reality they have only learnt the very basic skills of programming which are not sufficient for a project like this

Client based means the customer downloads the software onto there own PC to use

dp is good for get the work done quickly by little price such as script installation , niche sites , traffic or some content creation etc

if you are interested in client sided project definitely you should look some professional ones :) and who you can able to contact whenever you want to discuss

btw i think u need to platform also such as php , .net or java in your project may be that helps to find a suitable programmer

There are mainly web programmers here.

Try forums like freelancers, elance etc. Also devshed.com.

This place doesn't have a lot of Java/c/c++ developers indeed but i can't say that there is no demand for them as i get quite some big jobs from people here that ask me to code their software and so far the earnings are decent/good for a java (and a bit c/c++) developer.

Jon1771, contacted me also for a job some time ago and although i agreed to code his software he got banned for a week and in the meantime i couldn't contact him and got job offers from other people here on dp so i'm kinda busy doing that but i'll definitly code his software later when i have the time to do it. :D
