Swerd, Exilius, Popedope - who did your graphics?

You all launched a CB product recently... With very nice graphics - did you do them yourself or you got them done elsewhere?

    Thanks

    I did them :)

You could easily outsource them though.

Alex I recommend to ask Norb for some design tips and even names for outsourcing. His websites rock and maybe he can provide you some info... I wish you success in whatever you do.

If you are trying to find a graphics designer I could do the work for fairly cheap.
I usually make landing pages for about $20-30 a piece and they convert fairly well.

Learn to use photoshop, you don't want to go your whole life having to outsource graphics. Its so much more conveniant to be able to whip up your own graphics within a few minutes.

Actually, I think the opposite - Stick to what you're good at and outsource work that you're not experienced with.

If I'm good at marketing (making money online), but horrible with graphics, I'll outsource them. Why waste time to try to learn a program when I could be making money in that time?

I understand where you're coming from (to be self-sufficient), but it's all about outsourcing the small stuff and concentrating on improving the skills that are already bringing you in cash.

Why lose hundreds of hours( because , I think, Alex wants pro designs) of learning Photoshop when you could make thousands in that time and pay for a professional design only a few hundred bucks.

Of course, you must know some basic Photoshop but it's not feasible to learn to master Photoshop.

I'd like to point out that you don't need to purchase or "acquire" ;) expensive software like PhotoShop to put together some decent graphics.

There's The Gimp http://www.gimp.org/about/introduction.html , which is 100% free, can do just about everything PhotoShop does, and runs on Mac, Windows and Linux.

Another great piece of free software is Inkscape http://www.inkscape.org . As a vector graphics editor, Inkscape is more suitable for creating web graphics such as logos, buttons and icons than a bitmap/raster image editor like The Gimp or PhotoShop. Inkscape is also available for Windows, Mac and Linux.

Check out http://screencasters.heathenx.org/ for some practical step-by-step video tutorials for Inkscape.

Oops, I can't live link. Oh well...

Yeah I have to agree, the crew at designgururyan.com does a really good job at designing a landing page. Every single webpage they've created I've seen has looked professional.

As for me, I design my webpages alone.. It takes a lot of work but I'm usually really happy with the end result.

(exilus with only one "i" before the L, no "i" after the L :))

I had someone do it for me for about 300 bucks.

I agree with outsourcing (hence the purpose of this thread). I do know the basics of Photoshop but I am not going to learn everything - I need the graphics quickly and well done - I d rather pay someone ;)

Thanks for all the replies - I am launching in a week! (NO w4g and NO E4E kind of stuff...lol)

If you like the design of the sites in my signature I can get you the contact info for our designer.

I agree, outsource what you can and stick with what makes money.

Thanks for the suggestion, but that kind of design can be done by 80% of DP members for 10$ ;) Not PRO enough ;)
