I want to use adsense to earn some money. Please tell me if blogspot is a good choice?

I use blogspot for my sites but I've also bought a domain name for each site.

And I do earn money from adsense on them

you can use your own domain with blogspot, the downfall is if you develop this you dont own the databse at blogspot. the data is held by google. wordpress is the better option as you own the domain and the databse is accessible to you. you have more control with wordpress.

More choices and flexibilities with Wordpress. The downside is cost.

Start with free blogspot blog... If after some time you start getting some visitor and you are still interested to continue with this blog. Get your own domain , blogspot provide easy way to migrate to own domain and also automatically redirect your old blogspot to new domain.

Although some would say you begin with a free blog like blogger without needing investment, eventually after a certain time, when the blog becomes established it will a problem to transfer all the item or too much hassle with redirect. Anyway the domain name under blogspot is not owned by you so why not begin with something which belongs to you in the first place.

I seem to remember Wordpress having some sort of blogspot post importer.

Anyway, blogspot gets index by Google almost within the hour or so.

But lycos made a very valid point.

I believe owing you own site is better for a long haul. You could try using a blogspot for initial couple of months just to iron out your priorities.

i think Starting from blog is not that bad thing
but owning a site and running it for longer time will help only..
When a site gets older, it starts getting higher hits..
so the main thing is , do anything, but not think that i ll use blogspot for 4 months then i ll buy a site..
Think long term. buy a hosting package with a domain name and make a decent site..
    start working
    thats the right way

I agree that Wordpress is the far better choice, overall. Owning your own domain name is always advantageous. However if you have no money and just want to get started for free, go with the blogspot site.

well I guess if you are serious gonna blog, I think its better to use wordpress with own domain and hosting. I use blogspot too, but after 5 month, I wanna change my host, but... I dont wanna lose my 2000 backlinks and pagerank...
