Any Ideas To Monetize Big Traffic?

    Hi everyone,

I've currently got a website that receives anywhere between 6,000-10,000 daily visits. So far this month, it's received 39,199 visits and 29,547 of those were unique. So there's pretty good unique and returning traffic as well. The site offers adult (lesbian) video clips, so most visitors are there to check out some video clips and then leave, pretty much.

My question is this: Anybody have any good ideas how to monetize some of this traffic? I already serve one popunder and also serve adengage ads on the site. However, the adengage ads are clicked at a VERY LOW rate when compared to the amount of traffic and doesn't yield as much as I think this much traffic should. I don't want to serve multiple popups/popunders, but bandwidth is getting sucked down at an alarming rate lately. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I would look into some of the Adult Video Affiliate Programs, join up at some of the Adult Webmaster Forums, etc.

    PM me the site :)

I would switch from AdEngage to AdBrite, for better payout on the text link ads.

You can also use AdultAdWorld for banner and pops. Lastly, I would use AdultFriendFinder as well.

Thanks for the suggestions. I was actually looking for more of a way to keep them at the site to click links. The ideas suggested would probably yield the same results as they require ad clicking (except the popups, which I'd actually like to avoid). Oh well, I've got a few ideas I'm experimenting with. Just seeing if anyone had experience with this same problem and was able to convert.

My actual problem is that I'm receiving too much traffic right now. Never thought I'd whine about that...:) I need to monetize it before I worry about getting them to come back. Besides, according to the stats, it looks like maybe 25% is repeat. Maybe more.

The sites that bring me the most traffic are media search engines. So, visitors from those sites are looking for videos. They view it, maybe watch a couple more, then leave. I need them to start clicking. I'm gonna try blending some ads on the video pages and see if that helps. I don't really want to "trick" people into clicking. But some images may draw attention to the links.

I have an adnetwork and I could help you fill up the adspace on your website. What is the link to your site?

    Regards,

You can put some adsense ads on your site or go to CommisionJunction and put some links of them on your site.

Yea video sites are hard to monetize, that's why Youtube was actually losing a lot of money in band width prior to being bought out by Google. If your video site is niche oriented, I recommend you endorsing products through PM instead of using adsense or other click ads.

Why dont you join affiliate programs? I am sure you can find something you can use to earn through leads and sales from the traffic you generate.

Open a dating site on top of you existing site... Convert the traffic into profiles and then you can sale these profile at a good price.

You can even put Adsense ads on your dating site, but the dating site should not be of an adult nature.
