Hi, When I started in web design (almost a year ago) I chose "Sunlust" as my internet nickname and then as a brand for my web design project. From the beginning the first place on Google for word "sunlust" was www.sunlust.com.au/ a small company based in Australia that produces some sun tanning stuff. I bought the domain sunlust.net as sunlust.com was taken by the same company too and I started my website. After few weeks I was second on Google and that's the way it stayed for months. Then I started to improve my web presence by socialising etc. So if you google "sunlust" you can see: 1. my post on some web design forums with my introduction 2. that sun tanning company 3. my bebo profile 4. my profile on some web design forums 5. my profile on some gaming forums 6. and my profile again on other web design forums 7. my profile on joomla.org 8. my super old blog on blog.co.uk 9. a post by me on joomla.org forums 10. my website It really pisses me off, why is my website so much lower? It has a PR2. It's not like anything serious n stuff, but it's a personal thing, I want my website to be first, in the end it's only 7.1k competition, that's close to nothing. Does anyone have any idea how can I quickly beat my competition, and please, SEO guru's, don't just take the first place to make fun out of me! lol.
Currently you are using <base href="http://sunlust.net/" /> But your internal links are /sitemap.html When you add them together you get http://sunlust.net//sitemap.html Try to remove as much unneeded code as you can. We call it "code bloat". Also, on all your outbound link add the nofollow attribute. When this is done, compare your site's home page to the top 10 competitors returned for your keyword phrase. This will tell you what you need to adjust SEO wise. And of course, links with you keyword phrase in it.
yea i see you as #3 and #4 also - if you want to get to #1 keep building links with Sunlust as the anchor text - sunlust.com may have you on domain age but you can focus on links and be on top... if its that important
Actually, I see sunlust.net on second place in Google SERP. In my experience, position is a jumpy thing. I have one page about an atheist bible bookmark, that even ranks differently depending on which browser I use. I strike you a deal: I am working on a new project, which is all about SEO and backlinking. My problem so far is convincing users to join (the typical hen and egg problem), so let's beat two birds with one stone: Register on my review board and put up your website for a review. You get at least a do follow backlink and potentially some tips of how to improve your website.
Either one browser is caching the pages and one isn't. Or one is using using a country specific google (.com.au) and the other isn't (.com).
args, typo. Correct address is: http://review.onyxbits.de @live-cms_com My bet is on country specific Google. However, that still proves my point .
