Duplicate Content

Is is still a good idea to submit an article to more than 1 article directory, considering that google penalizes sites with what they call duplicate content?

 

Only in very extreme cases of duplicate content will Google issue a penalty. The worst case scenerio is that some of your articles will appear in the omitted results or not be indexed at all. Submit to the most popular article directories and keep an eye on results before submitting to the lesser known directories.

Its not advisable to submit 1 unique article to different article directories, for it will loss it value of uniqueness.

 

Well braver55b, since you're not submitting the articles to rank the URL from the article directories, and instead you're using this articles directories to generate one way link to your site, then it's ok if you submit the same article to a lot of article directories sites...

 

What to do is write one article and play with its and change few words up and down . Try to submit your article only in good directories which is well known .

Just try to rewrite it manually or use some tool like Unique Article Wizards to help you to generate unique contents....

So how much do articles need to be changed for it to be unique (percentage wise)

 

I believe that an article should be 30% different in order not to incur a duplicate content penalty

 

You can submit articles to as many directories as you want. But I suggest you only submit them to the top directories only.

And never worry about the duplicate content problem. The worst that can happen is that google will not count backlinks on same articles, posted on different directories.

If google used to penalize sites for getting backlinks from the same articles but from different directories, then people will start to do article marketing to thousands of directories for their competitors in order to get them penalized.

 

I would say find your favorite article directory and submit your article only there because Google has changed the algorithms and it penalizes the duplicated articles.
