Hi I am a little bit confused related to the paid link that various site take to increase their back links.I want to know weather paid link is good or not?
According to the Google Webmaster Guidelines you are not supposed to buy links. If google finds that you have been buying links (and they do find sites) you can be penalized pretty harshly. Buying links is still done by a lot of webmasters but technically you shouldn't be buying any links, just write a lot of great content and you will be linked to naturally.
You should not pay for links. With this said, it is done all the time by most SEO companies even when they say they don't. Google will only detect the paid back link if it is from a major link seller. And then Google just make the site a PR 0 and as an affect, makes the paid links worthless. What you really need to worry about is your competiton. If they find out, the will inform Google and then there will be a human review.
yes...this make sense...competitor will do anything to overcome you..its natural in business...since SEO is the best method of getting quality traffics..everybody will try hard to be at the top...i've read in one blog that the owner is not satisfied with his competitor having good ranking in SERP using paid links and he complaint to Mr.G and few weeks later his competitor site is 'missing' from SERP....
If you really want to buy links and not be penalized by the search engines you can ask for it to be a "no follow" therefore the link is there for traffic purposes.
Well if you want to buy a link for traffic purposes ask the webmaster to use "No Follow". If you are doing it for SEO reasons you have no way to assure you won't be penalized.
its true google don't like paid links....but i saw many site that are at top on google and they all have paid links....can any tel one me whats the reason behind this???
That simply means google (or as an0n says gaygle) is still not good at detecting paid links from normal links. They have managed to find 'some' patterns in last couple of years and have given penalty to some sites (including some popular ones). But that said.. one can easily fool the bot.
Paid links are a strict no no. If found, your website would be penalized. Instead of paid links, why don't you buy banner ads on websites that could drive relevant traffic to your website?
Google consider the paid links also, bcoz they are also the backlinks. But, google is not consider the sponsor links in the search results and the clicks come from them.
Search engine will never penelize any website for paid links. But, the sites should be relevant to ur site otherwise u may penalize.
I disagree with that, even if the site is similar to yours and you buy a link you still have a chance of being penalized one would think. It would be a lot harder for google to find these paid links but if they do they have all the right and mostly likely will penalize you.
in most cases, there's really no way google can detect a paid link vs. free link. if you put up a basic HTML link to a site and that site owner just happens to slip you 50, google is not going to know that unless someone tells google. that simple. however, google can get upset if that link doesn't really fit into the overall theme of your site or if it simply doesn't make sense. also, maybe the paid link goes to a bad neighborhood, which wouldn't be a good thing. there are many factors, but in general if the link makes sense and enhances the visitor experience (that is in google's eyes) then it should be okay. further to that, if you have an ad sheet page on your site (i.e., click here to learn how to advertise on this website), i'd refrain from saying that you sell text links.
"i'd refrain from saying that you sell text links." - Great point Or ideally just don't buy or sell links... create some awesome content and make friends with some webmasters in the same field and links will come.
