It really depends what you are doing on the Internet. If it is your source of income, you should try to balance that with other things like family, friends, and hobbies. It is very easy to be addicted because there is so much on it. The key is to limit yourself and find other things to do.
If you are happy when you are online then why not? It is when it affects other parts of your life like relationships that it becomes a problem. You need to try to strike a good balance, which is not always easy to achieve but will certainly help. Best of luck to you.
Nice words...yeah...internet captures our lives more and more...choosing a virtual life instead living outside the box Once again nice, huh? Internet love is the best joke though...isn't it?

Strong resemblance to my youth To the OP, yes that does sound like an addiction. If you can't stay offline and feel depressed when you can't be online, that's a serious problem, seek help
Internet is important.. its just a part of my life... not my life.. i have my family friends and much more stuff to do apart from this!
So it may be an addiction, especially if you find that you miss other things to be online and feel down when you aren't online. Do you find that you make excuses to stay home and sit online? Do you skip out on friends to go get online? Do you find that people have stopped talking to you or no longer invite you out because they know you'll makes excuses to stay online. Is your work suffering because you are online all the time? If more than one of these is the case, you might have a clinical addiction.
It is internet addiction. I also have the same problem. When I start using the internet I cannot stop it. Currently it 1:35 am and I have to be up at 6 am but still I am using the internet and I have not thoughts of disconnecting it.
I think it's possible to be addicted to anything -- Internet being one of those things. It can be unhealthy to stay inside all day and be online.
