I am about to attempt an adwords campaign and could do with a little advice to minimise losses. I believe I have found a niche that has low competition so I should get low cost per click and am planning on only targetting my adds to people searching for the product or even "buy product" etc. Could anyone please help with some general advice and general mistakes that are made by inexperienced people? Thanks,
You have to somehow get more traffic to your site. Link exchange with high page rank website Article writing Always keep in mind that your links are active. Fresh content
First chose highly relevant keywords to the product you are promoting, relevant ad copy will also help you a lot plus relevant landing page(use a php script to cloack your affiliate links,it is the best solution)create a privacy policy page and a contact us page. With all this quality performed and set up you will have cheap costs per clicks.
I'd suggest opting out of the content network (this is set on by default) - if a little later down the line everything is going great then you could experiment with content a bit but start with search! Use Google AdWords Editor - it's a great tool to edit your account offline and allows you to make changes across the entire account really easily. Make sure you have the correct geographical location targeting set for the campaigns. As has been mentioned - keep your keywords relevant, use lots of negative keywords to keep away unwanted traffic. Broad match can have some quite unexpected results which is why negative keywords are so important to keep high traffic relevancy. Hope this helps! Ben Snr Account Manager Attacat - ppc specialists
