How is DP Co-Op today?

Discussion in 'Co-op Advertising Network' started by EGS, Jul 22, 2008.

    Hello DP Webmasters:

I've been looking into DP's co-op system for a while, and always turning away from it, due to the fear of Google penalties.

I just wanted to know, how is Digital Point's Co-Op system today? How are your results with it? Does Google penalize sites that participate in the co-op system? And are the links nofollow or what?

Please also explain what it is exactly - a link exchange? And your experiences with it.

    Thank you.

I didn't use coop for over a year now, but from what I read it seems like a mixed bag; some webmasters were caught and penalized by google, while others are not.

I'm interested too as well. I feel like google would jump on this and I'd get my account suspended or something. They seem to be very uptight and strict about their ads.

The ads appear as simple HTML which make it pretty difficult to track (from my understanding). Anyone have firsthand experience?

I personally won't use it, I've watched many sites that swear by this method for building backlinks plummet to oblivion in google rankings and traffic that google sends from using co-op networks (not just this one but others as well).

take 15 minutes a day, and attempt to build natural linkbacks to the site

I am really inclined to hear feedback from people who are participating and active in DP's co-op network.
Any "official" feedback and responses?

I'm looking for the information also, but after searching for the last 2 days, I can't find any answers... Some say it's true that google will penalize but some say no. One of my site has co-op network and I see some backlinks on yahoo, not really obvious on google.

It's true. I experienced it with my website. It was nowhere to be found in google for 6 months until I turned off coop for some competitive keywords and after some time (a couple of weeks) i got my ranking back

Those afraid of it point it at your competitors then...It can't hurt you, else it's a weapon.

    Get on using it!

I'm interested in how people feel about this too. I've kinda come to the overall assumption that if it's a website you care about don't put network links on it. If I remember correctly there is a small image embedded in the code to track impressions... so i'm sure google could penalize any website that contains that image if they want.

Probably best way would be to use one website you don't care much about to build weight and then send all the links to a different website. Basically like 3 way linking i guess.

Really? Except the whole fact you've got to put the CO-OP links on your site.

Glad to see you really thought you idea thru for more than 5 seconds, and if you tactics of increasing your business or page rank are via things like this, then don't expect to last to long.

What do you think of 98cnshoes.com? Would you recommend it to other people? If you write reviews you can help the rest of the TTIW community learn more about the sites you love.

If you have a lot of indexed pages, your weight increases - which means more backlinks and the better you'll rank in google. It helps in the short run or the long run whichever you want to use.
