All in the title, I want to hear your opinion on which one gives a better impression. I realise that I should probably buy a .com, .net, .info, whatever domain - but at the moment I can't find one without the initial set-up cost for a monthly fee. Thanks, BenderFry
They are all free domains so I would say none would sound professional. From the three, go with .co.cc because .tk requires ads(unless paid) and .co.nr requires you to have a little banner from their site.
Agree with axs in that: 1.) Free domains + unprofessional and 2.) if you must, go with .co.cc While I used .tk once... it was for my friends punk band haha. ...If you are super tight on funding, I guess this is your best route. However, it's smarter to invest in a com/net/info depending on the purpose of your site... especially if you are looking for professional reasons.
Okay thanks for the replies. The reason I wanted a free domain was because Godaddy registration via paypal needed a CC. I've fixed that so now I am the new owner of energycrysis.com and energycrysis.net. BenderFry
None, all those above extentions suck big time! What monthly fee? It only costs you about $6 to reg & about $7-$8 to renew each year.
Congrats on the new dn's Good time to get those names... however the misspelling might hurt you a bit, that is if you are trying to sell them. Nonetheless, I think you made some good buys.
Ya, that crysis can actually turn out to be useful. That's a mispelling that if marketed effectively you could make it worth something... btw crysis is an awesome game haha.
Agreed... however I did take some thought into this (maybe this could be an ethics topic, if anyone has the time to start this): let's say you are someone who has the heart and really wants to try a business out... but just honestly can't get the funding for it. Should we punish the person for even trying to use a free domain for professional reasons. ...obviously, any free domain will not help him, for the competition's websites would look better. However, I think if you have the drive, and ability to make the most out of your free domain, and market the HECK out of it... then you got a shot for success. However, I would say once, or if, you make enough profit that you could fund a .com and good host... then do that immediately. All in all, websites, business.... life in general is all about taking the risk. So go ahead and jump (Yes, just toally realized I quoted Van Halen XD) for even if you don't succeed with a free domain, at least you didn't any $ (if you're willing to part with the loss of your effort and time.)
co.cc is good i am using it for one of my blogs and its running successfully obvoiusely not as good as .com but equivalant to international tld's
I would suggest get atleast a .info because paid domain has a better reputation to rank well in SE. However if you still want a free domain how about trying out tl.my? There are still many good names available with only 500 reg. Cheers
NONE of them are professional Believe me, to become a professional, you must avoid using FREE domains. FREE = UNprofessional That's the way it is...
All free domains are unprofessional as clients will think if you choose a free domain then you are going to also choose cheap servers and other options. If you cant save up for a domain and are forced to use a free domain then i suggest using .co.cc as it sounds the most profesional free domain out there
I have never heard of tl.my ...thanks for this, and I will give it a try, for it looks like something I'd like to play around with
