So I have $500 to spend on promoting/marketing my site. Ok, not a fortune but lot to me. So whats your best advice on how to spend this most effectively?
Well it would depend on what your website is / what you are selling which you didnt answer yet from a previous question. But i would say, spread the500 out between 3 forms of traffic. PPC would be good and also Ezine Solo Ads. But it depends on what you are selling. Jani
Before anything, get your ads and site critiqued. You don't want to spend any money until you know your ads and site can convert. And, for God sakes, do NOT spend any of it on seo. It is highly overrated. The real secrets to bringing in A LOT of consistent, targeted visitors, if you can really call it "secrets," *cough* is...to get word of mouth going, and, to find Websites that have low advertising rates, and making sure that the visitors may like the product. Get enough of them lined up like ducks on hunting day, and make the big smackaroos through volume. That’s how many of the big sites became big. Make, say, $10 a day, times 30 days = $300 a month. Take that $300 profit, combine it with your initial investment to buy more ads. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat... Overtime your budget will get bigger and bigger, thus you will be making more and more. It's all about volume! Search engines are also good places to put up cheap ads. Too high, and too much competition. Also consider doing pay per click services. But, do a little at a time. Don't put too much money into one basket. If you do not get your money back, along with a little bit of profit (like, say, $25 a month) from one service, drop them.
