Google Buys Yahoo, I think that this will be the headline for next year, especially as Yahoo continues to have a very tough time in the search engine market. It has become the unloved, annonymous brother to Google who have clearly cornered the market. Microsoft's failed bid will in my opinion put Google in a strong position to attempt a hostile takeover as the Yahoo brand weakens further. If Google bought Yahoo, it would realy put one over on Microsoft who must be kicking themselves for not having the ability to buy out Yahoo when they had the chance. Time will tell but I think it will happen next year especialy as we see advenues fall further in the next 6-9 months with the effects of the credit crunch and companies cutting advertising budgets, i really think that Yahoo will see a massive dent in their online earnings.
Well. What i think is that Google will buy yahoo in the future, and i hope they do. Instead of Microsoft. If google finally buys yahoo, google will be VERY powerfull.. VERY. Imagine, they started with just a search engine, and now look. WoW.. I wish that would be me ... Nice post btw mate.
I don't think Google will be interested in buying Yahoo. If google keeps doing things the way they are they will drive Yahoo out of business in no time. The problem with yahoo is that they opened so many doors and are having problems closing them. At the same time google is learning from everyone else's mistake and are avoiding falling in the same problems. This is just my opinion I could be wrong.
Well. If it's buy yahoo, they just remove the only more or less powerful competence. And then they use all yahoo tools, (yahoo answers, etc etc.)
If google would bought yahoo then there would be monopolizing of search engine and probably google would do some more changes with it as well. It could be that microsoft is going to monopolized the entire market in search engine since they have no big competitors at all.
Contrary. I think Google will be very interested in Yahoo. Google may decide to dump Yahoo! search engine if/when they buy Yahoo! But, they will enjoy and benefit from Yahoo! other products: Yahoo! News, Yahoo! Email, Yahoo! Search Marketing, Yahoo! Ad Publisher, Yahoo! Finance, Yahoo! 360!, Yahoo! Shopping, Yahoo! Directory, etc.
I dont think google will buy yahoo... I may be crazy but here is my thinking: Yahoo doing poorly only makes Google look better... If Google buys yahoo they will start coming across like the early 90's microsoft (as a bully/monopoly)... Google is smart, much smarter than myself, but my guess is they will not buy yahoo... Instead, they will just earn income because yahoo is showing google ads.
Because it wouldn't be good to have one entity or a corporate giant control the greater part of the Internet (at least 90%). This is no different than the Microsoft monopoly in the software industry of the 90's
cool down mates......Google is going strong and don't need this buy in near future.....at least he wants some competition....LoL.....Google might be interested in other services of yahoo like some one mentioned here....but search department.....????
I think Google will not buy yahoo, the reason is the Competition between them, competition gives money, competition is the way to identify who's the best. just my opinion, hehe
lol Soon as Google buys Yahoo, you're all doomed. They'll own 80% of the searches performed in the US, which means they'll be able to do whatever they want. Most you people hate Microsoft because they are big or whatever and don't have a real reason to, But then who are you going to hate when Google is the same way in the internet field as Microsoft is in hardware and software.
