I have lot of articles in which I have given the image source as /image/pic.jpg. I want all this to change or redirect to www.site.com/image/pic.jpg. I wont be able to change all of them manually as there are above 5K articles. Can it be done using redirect?

I personally do not see exactly what your trying to say... The only thing different is one is directlinked/hotlinked and the other one isn't.

Just out of curiosity were the images located on a different server or something? I really do not see the difference in how you worded your question.

The images are on same server. I just converted a site from postnuke to wordpress. All articles have images and the code used was img src="images/abc.jpg". Now the problem in wordpress came in the category pages ///www.site.com/category/this-is-my-article. The images were not being loaded in these pages because the images folder is in root and not in adir called category.
