I have to agree with what you just posted. It's amazing how poor the spelling is here.

Especially when you go to another forum and they are typing correctly.

Not sure what makes you think about the language skill on the forum. If you look at total no. of posts, no. of members, no. of active members than perhaps -- you would have to admit that even with (in your view) poor standards - the forum is rather active and hot spot for webmasters.

    Cheers

I think its just because English is not there native language.
It also depends upon your schooling, if you are taught english in school, then your english would be fine. Here in India, most of the schools have english as a subject from the very beginning.

rightly said, actually English is not our first language, our mother tongue isn't English, although we are taught English from young age but we don't speak it all the time.

I may be wrong (I'm not), but wasn't Aussies taught to spell it "humour" just like the limeys?

Should be, Australia English models after British English, should be spelled as humour, but then at least for me I interchange both of these quite often.

I guess its hard. They want to thank the OP, but it looks like they are post padding.

Just like the happy birthday threads.

They can easily green rep the OP, do not really need to post lol which is nearly senseless especially when there is a whole thread of lols......

There's no problem as long as you understand what he/she is saying...

    ohhh indeed we do :p

Thought I'd add my 2c on this whole American/British spelling debacle. With the advent of the net the American spelling (no matter how wrong it feels) is just soo pervasive its hard to stop it creeping in here and there.

When it comes to the English language, w3bmaster is a force unto himself, and should be treated as such. I'd much rather read Eastern European attempts at English than endless examples of the "suggest me plz" phenomenon interspersed with txt spk that we've been inundated with in the last few months.

    :p
