how many directories submission is good enough......where can i get a list of free direstories with good PR
You can try http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php and sort by PR. Addurl.nu is another good resource for finding high PR directories. If it's a new site and shows ads you should start with new directories.. if you have an established site with 'not too many ads' .. then you stand a better chance to get accepted in high PR directories too Submit to as many as possible but don't get your backlinks 'only' from directories. Try and get backlinks from diversified sources.
I have a free directory in my sig. As for your question, I'd say it depends on the PR. If they were all PR 10 then 20 would be a good number. However if they were PR1 you would need a lot more. . .
Submit your site to as many as directories (quality) as you can There is no any fixed criteria for that. More you submit, you will get more benefit. Just remember that submit it using different titles and descriptions. DON.
its upto you, if you plan to submit your site to 5k directories then all submissions are not goin to get approved in 1 day, Just use as many titles and descriptions as possible for better seo benefit
As DON says, the more the better. Just choose quality over quantity. I'd sooner spend my time submitting to 200 decent dirs than 2000 crappy uncached dirs.
Directory Submission is an important part of Link building and link building has no any limitation so you can submit as much as you can. Because you will get only about 60 to 80% results in case of quality submission otherwise 40 to 50% only. Keep in mind that if you are submitting regular in free directories then variation in titles and descriptions are must for good response. Thanks
Check my sig for a list of free directories. You can sort and search by PR, niche, etc. I like to take 15 minutes a day and submit to web directories. Just grab one of the many lists out there and start pounding your way through it. If you make it part of your regular routine it pays off.
This free directory list is good as well. Don't chase PR on free directories. Many of the established free directories with high PR can take months, if ever, to review submissions. Other high PR free directories may be using dropped domains, faking PR, etc. Here's a good paid directory list if you decide to get listed quickly.
Different titles etc as possible? If it looks like spam, it is spam. Please don't teach the newbies bad habits - they'll just get deleted or banned for spamming directories. Bad advice my friend.
Why do you say that using different titles is spam or bad habit? I agree that 'if it looks like spam, it's spam' But using multiple title doesn't mean they have to be spam. When the directory accepts 'only domain name' as title use that. For example www.google.com but it's not spam when someone submits google with following title 'search engine', 'web search engine', 'Google', 'Google search' etc. etc. What's wrong with those titles?
Is there any directory list availible for travel industry websites links exchange... I means for special intrest web directries or blog sites.... Thanks
Well, it is spam if the submitter uses multiple titles/descriptions for 1 single website. The directory owner just needs to watch for the same url to kick it out - it's an old strategy, it's too easy to spot and doesn't work. Using multiple keywords normally for SEO purposes is fine, a web designer will sort that. But we are talking about putting multiple keywords into directory description forms, and that's very different, and taken differently too. Creating multiple different titles with the intent for use in free directories eg: 'search engine', 'directory engine' etc is known as keyword stuffing, and if that's repeated many times, it's taking advantage of something isn't it, and that's a crime. Ofcourse it's spam.
Not if he is submitting that web site to multiple directories which is what matrixsoftwarez was talking about when he first stated to use multiple titles and descriptions. It is good practice and it works, it is not spam. The only way this could be recognized as spam is if the same web site was submitted with multiple titles and descriptions to the same web directory.
Most know or should know what webmaster's intent is. This keyword manipulation will be used multiple times and targeted to as many directories as humanly possible. Just have to read the posts here to know that. "Excuse me, but I need to get into many directories fast" or how about, "I am newb, can tell how I got many directory please" etc etc etc. Proof enough I think. Why encourage spam? It's bad enough deleting the many hundreds I get every month, without allowing it in my websites. The only ones standing up for this manipulation are the spammers themselves.
EK, based on your last thread regarding email spam and your clear lack of knowledge I seriously wont be wasting any more time discussing this with you as you dont know what your talking about. To the OP, use one of the free directory lists provided above and use matrixsoftwarez's good advice regarding multiple titles and descriptions. It works and it is not spamming, period.
1. The more the better obviously. 2. http://www.vmoptions.com/directory-list.php is a nice list Check http://forums.digitalpoint.com/forumdisplay.php?f=65 for new directories to submit to
