    Should the US Get involved?

President Bush on Monday demanded that Russia end a "dramatic and brutal escalation" of violence in Georgia, agree to an immediate cease-fire and accept international mediation to end the crisis in the former Soviet republic.

The U.S. for once should concentrate on repairing the seemingly irreparable damage done to their economy thanks to the stupid Iraq war. Everything else can wait.

I was really surprised that Bush gave a warning. I thought that this would be a great time considering the violence escalating each day to call for peace talks between Georgia and Russia. An Olive branch would have been better than a warning.

How was it correct? What is it going to accomplish?
If anything all it will do is piss them off more.

I suppose we should just work with the UN and help broker a peace deal between the two. We do not need to piss off russia and this does not concern us in any way imaginable

This is simple. There is no way the US should get involved in any capacity aside from talking to Russia and Georgia to try and stop this from getting worse. If the though of sending more of our troops into a warzone, one which doesn't involve us in any fashion, then someone in charge needs to be smacked. Hard. To even consider doing more than talking is asinine.

    YES!
the us don't need to get in Georgia, but they definitely need to show support to Georgia.
Don't you care about all the people who live there and can't ascape?
Their president ascaped Georgia (!) and left his citizen alone.

No, we shouldn't send American troops to possibly die so that Georgia can take over South Ossetia. Sorry this is a big cut and paste, but here is an article about what happened in South Ossetia...

We should air-drop all the neocons into Georgia and let them fight the Russians... That would solve all the problems... :D

He cant do anything else, so he can warn as many times as he want.

Putin warned Bush over the Kosovo situation and everyone knows what hapened.

Meanwile: US said they will help to rebuild Georgian economy and US blocked the invitation from Russia to have a NATO-Russia talks

I guess they dont have anything to say on them talks.

    Now check this :

    http://edition.cnn.com/

Do you think Russia's actions in Georgia are justified?

    Yes -- it's peacekeeping 92% 302894

    No -- it's an invasion 8% 25926

    Total Votes: 328820

I guess people who voted watch other channels and media apart from CNN :D

"International law does not envisage double standards Medvedev said."

Now Medvedev has to bring all those responsible to justice.
It is a shame US stands behind a war criminal. Russia shouldn't listen to crooks.

No one should dictate on a country what to do when her citizens are being butchered. Every country has protect her with or without the US approval.
