With or without 'www'

    I have a bought a pr2 domain from the aftermarket.Now that i have it in my possession i want to host a website in it.But i'm not sure if i have to set up with "www" or just the domain name.Are both the ways same? sorry if the question is noobish,i really need to get this clarified.Thx
