what is a good search engine script?

Hello,
Does anyone know a good search engine script for your own website.
I like my own search engine, because i want to make different pages
with gems / crystals and information about it.

 

I use the google API. Its great as long as you are indexed in google.

 

Use Brian Huisman's Orca search. I use it and it's lighning fast! Installation is a breeze (I run it on 7 sites, total indexed pages is about 5K). A complex search takes around 0.03 seconds to return a full set of results. You can run the spider on set intervals via CRON or manually. Yuo can tweak the algo yourself.

how many searches a month does it allow you?

 

About 1000 per day I think.

The best solution now will be the Google CSE.

If you just build your website on wordpress then search is built in.
