I have started this work for 6 months and I've realized that it has no future. It's hard to follow Google, Google algorithm changing. Moreover, if you have 11 site about one specific field want to do SEO work, what do you do to rank all of them on the top? I feel puzzled!
Even it is hard to rank on Google, still there is future and you to be patience and need a lot of hard work. You may try other seo techniques so as to top rank you on the search engine.
Can i have your computer? SEO is ever changing and Google changing its algorythm is what keeps us in business so our clients dont leave after the first contract. And if you have 11 clients going for one key term which i doubt you ever will, do you best with each of them and the one that gives you the most link budget will inevitably end up first and the one that gives you less will end up 11th. Simple While there is a world wide web and people making money off of it there will also be the need for people to manipulate search results to gain online exposure
We all get that sinking feeling. But there is definately a future for SEO and there's certainly success's to be had. I find that the key is to know your ability. When I was stuck at newbie stage I thought I could dominate niches that were really far out of my reach, this lead on to me taking on jobs only to be disappointed by the results. The results were so bad that I couldn't even monitor upward progress and see what I was doing right. In the end I was given a job for a really low competion niche. My newbie techniques like article submission, signature links and directory links actually worked! From then on I decided I'd only take on paid work for similarly low competion niches and recommend AdWords for high competion niches. This works out well because I know I'm being honest about what I can achieve and still offer clients a measurable degree of success. In the meantime I stay subscribed to about 10 or so SEO blogs and read them everyday. I also take time out to experiment on my own websites in slightly more competitive fields and expand my knowledge and abilities. For instance, the next experiment I'm going to try is using web templates to generate links, I know that web templates on some websites get up to 27,000 downloads which gives me oppurtunity to include a footer link and in theory get up to 27,000 links. I want to see if it makes an impact on rankings or whether the fact that the links won't all be from relevant sites and that the links will be in the footer will make the links count for nothing or very little.
My concern is that with everyone seemingly wanting to fatten their wallets with paid inclusion and PPC, that the search engines will drop the regular spiderier and go with advertising.
I very much doubt the major search engines will drop regular listings. The regular listings is what makes a search engine useful. If all that came up was paid listings then the search engines would not show a lot of other valuable content. As such listings would be degraded and people would stop using the search engines.
it is possible to rank in google even though you have many site, but the facts it is really hard to handle many sites and rank them on top, especially google algo is frequently change!
Search engines IMO will be a top resource for many years more. Two years ago, the number of human being keywords generated was around 60 million and growing, so the demand is strong. SEO biz is another matter, and I believe that only the long tail model will survive in the following years Maybe + 500 pages to stand the algo changes.
Great Bright Future and in India few institutes are offering training and certificates in SEO.... and companies hiring SEO's are incresing day by day..after all its all about business..
SEO has definately got a bright future. The internet is still growing and businesses will always want to take advantage of the benefits, customers, etc that the internet can bring them by being top in the search engines.
With doing proper on-page and off-page optimization, you can make your sites rank higher. But the problem is, it is very hard to handle and maintain 11 sites. I think you must provide more time for your link building and assure that you get quality backlinks.
Life is changing dude if one have to do SEO once and stay in the same rank forever people like us will never have a chance So there is Democracy behind SEO theory
As long as we have websites and as long as we have search engines are around, SEO work will be actively sought after. After all a businesses men would like to spend more time concentrating on his business rather than doing SEO work for himself. The SEO work itself would change a lot (as search engines evolve) and it is quite evident if you look at the history of SEO.
It is Google's high quality regular listings that make people go there, which is why their advertising is valuable. No decent organic index, no revenue from adverts. Its possible they may try harder to engineer SEO out of the equation, but all the time web developers continue to make crap websites there will be room for SEO
Yes who told it has no future the more google changes its algorithm the more SEO we have expect in future. Because google is highly reputed company and it wont just change algorithm simply. It has many reasons. Also there may be another search engines comes that will takeover google who knows.
SEO has a future, but it will be rocky for many of the low level optimizers. As time progresses, more and more people will get into SEO because it is not a very difficult industry to enter. This will lead to decreased prices due to more competition. Some of the larger and older firms will continue to succeed due to their experience. They have done this, and have the results to back themselves up. As search engines continue to change, so will the method of SEO. This does not mean that SEO will die, only that the ways in which developers go about optimizing their websites will differ.
Don't give up on it. SEO changes daily, and if you don't like that fact, it's not the industry for you. But if you see it as a fun and interesting challenge, you'll be constantly motivated and do well. I agree the low level optimizers will soon be weeded out. It's getting harder every day, and those not willing to keep up on it will start to drop off.
I believe SEO is going to be around for long haul. People are more interesting in information than advertisements.
