i recently bought a new computer with good specs - 3 GB RAM, 1.8 GHz CPU (Dual core), and Windows Vista installed. I was suprised to find that it was much slower than my old computer with Windows XP and worse specs (512 MB RAM, 1.8 GHz CPU). don't know if its because of the operating system, or something else.
Vista runs TWICE as slow as slow as XP on my P4 computer. That's messed up! I'm back on XP now for good until the 10-core computer is ready for Vista.
I must say I don't have any problems with Vista. I have more problems with the manufactures who didn't write Vista drivers! They had alot of time to make these, but no they didn't
I'm on a C2D 1.73Ghz Laptop and have been running vista for over a year. I have encountered NO problems whatsoever with stability. Just some driver probs which were not that much of a headache. But overall vista isn't very bad. Its actually pretty good
theres nothing wrong with it...at first i thought that i would have a hard time with it...but..i was wrong
Jessa234, I read that you had some concerns about your New Windows Vista. I work with the Windows Vista Team and would like you to know that there are a lot of resources available at the Windows Vista Page to help you get the most out of your OS. In your case it looks like you are having trouble with performance, there is a Performance and Tuning guide available at “ microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=ab377598-a637-432c-a3c8-1607ab629201&displaylang=en “ . This is a great doc. That will help you get a more out of Vista. Rick
I also like vista, it's pretty sexy. Although it does take a better system to run (and use more resources) then XP, I still think it's worth it.
I am using VISTA and I like these windows. I am not playing games, which need really good graphic or other setting.
it doesn't have to GO wrong mate... To all the people who've ever liked Windows, let me see you call it the best Operating System after you've tried Ubuntu with Compiz: http://www.ubuntu.com/ Its free, its safe, its Linux
