What is a PR6 or PR7 link worth to the SERP's?

I am currently well ranked in Google for my main keywords. Usually between 6 and 10th place on the first page. If I picked up a PR6 or PR7 link would it really make a difference in my SERP ranking? I have more than 2000 links currently but they are mainly directories with PR1 or PR2.

What do you think? Is getting a high PR link going to move me up?

    Hello...

    Yes

It should help move your site higher in the rankings 1-2 pages (depending on current page its sitting on)
as it used to work just fine before the algo change.

You can also link your inner pages to other sites providing the content is similer

PS... Just make sure the link is "relative" to your sites content

THanks! However, I am already on page 1 for my two most important terms. I rank somewhere between 6 and 10. Will the high PR link move me up a few places on the first page??

Well i wouldnt want you to go spending "big money" on them BUT i can say that it will help.
It might take 1 PR7 or maybe 4-5 PR7s or maybe 6-10 PR6s...just never know

It might take a few days or months till its picked up by the bots but sooner or later it has
to move upwards in the serps. ;)

I think SERP not depends on PR... PR has no value now a days.
I'm seeing daily hundreds of PR0 sites (PR N/a) with good Google SERP'S.
and also I think one PR6 or PR7 link didn't do any big difference to your rankings.
    thanks.

    You might be correct...

    It takes....

    1.content
    2.backlinks
    3.traffic,

and other variables for you site to climb for its keywords BUT
"PR" is still part of the algo so i wouldnt be to quick to dismiss it ;)

I can tell you a friend bought a PR9 link (about a year ago) and it jumped him
up about 40 pages for a keyword in the 230 million results.

Will it help today? Not sure but experimenting is half the joy of finding out :D

PR is a factor in SERPS and always has been. It says it on Google and in their patent.

I have to somewhat agree as they wouldnt have gone threw all the trouble
of stripping blogs and sites of PR ("paid links" thou shall not pimp our PR) if it wasnt that important :)

Yes, it will help your website move up the ranking...

However buying one PR6/7 link will not boost your website ranking if it's not a quality link, it depends on so many factors based on the linking page link ex:
    -Quality of the domain/inner page
-Relativity of the linking page theme & content
-Anchor text and how many outgoing links on that particular page

If you have money and have found a quality related site then go ahead and buy it ;)

PR is also important in SERP!!!!

You can get a movement up in SERP while you are link with PR 6 or 7..

But keep in mind that only link with "relative" theme.....

A relevant link from PR6 or PR7 page with few outbound links, will surely help to improve a site's SERPs.
