Design has a big impact on CTR

For people who are reading my blog, you may noticed that I am changing the theme frequently. This is because I am doing some experiment on ctr and after couple of months, I found out that prosense is still the best among many themes that I tested.

Simple and plain design without any graphics means a lot of you are dealing with adsense. Images can snatch your visitors attention and instead of clicking your adsense, they are tempted to click on image in some cases...

If your target is purely adsense, don't put lot of images and colors on your site... Just make it plain and simple.

In my case, I just change the prosense header in order to make it look like attractive but the ad placement at homepage and single posts are still the same...

I totally agree with not putting too much images. You want your visitors to pay attention to your ads and not anything else.

 

90% of you here are ruining the internet. Comments like "You want your visitors to pay attention to your ads and not anything else." make me sick. Making a website should never be all about making money. Why don't you guys make a decent website that helps visitors for once.

 

If you are speaking to someone who has a website with useless content then I must agree with you... All of my contents intends to help visitors... It has double purpose, to make money for myself and at the same time to help visitors...

 

A simple web design, good content, minimum photographs and minimal adsense ads are the recipe to get a high ctr and in turn a fat check

I agree, A good design and well optimized ads can make a huge difference.

 

Prosense is just a theme.. If you put copied content then it turned MFA... Do you think this is an MFA http://myseoblog.net/ ?..

MFA means Made For Adsense Sites and not adsense-ready themes.

MFA in deeper explanation means the site is being made for the purpose of displaying adsense ads and most contents are copied from other sites. MFA sites are not blogs...

This is a good topic. I am curious though, could you design an attractive site that actually pulls the viewer's eye to the content and ads? There has to be a way to make a site that isn't just a bland theme to get CT.

Prosense is really good. Will.Spencer uses Prosense for a lot of blogs. (he gets over $30K/month, so he's doing something right.)

 

Strategy and Design will get you good CTR.

 

MFA's are unethical and definitely not safe...
